Potential Portal DB’s (CB’s & S’s only)

Smith Snowden Utah CB
5'10" 185lbs
Seems like a pretty great athlete
24 starts and 36 games played
Started at Nickel but also plays a lot outside (275-299snaps each). Last year he was full time nickel.
Had a 68.4 overall grade and 72.6 Coverage grade this year. Last year those two were 72.0 and 70.7 respectively.

Career has 133 targets, allowing 58 receptions (43.6%, which is really good). 14.1 y/rec. 5 TDs allowed to 4 INTs. 11 PBUs, and a 64.1 QB Rating allowed on 787 coverage snaps total.

This dude seems like he'd be a great maybe cheaper guy who if we lose an outside CB and don't neccessarily land a pure Nickel (like if we get Koi and Thornton) who can reliably be used outside and as a nickel as needed. ....

Also may as well shout out the other UTah DB still in the portal. Tao Johnson had a down year but as far as pure safeties, he should be a consideration too. Though I'd guess with Thompson we don't go for someone like him since he was muuch more of a pure safety. But he did play SOME nickel, but dont generally think he was a box guy which is what we need more given we have Poyser and Fitzgerald.

But he had a very good 2024 season and is 6'1" 200lbs and athletic.

Emory Floyd, CB App St, 6'1" 195lbs.
68.5 overall grade, 67.1 coverage grade... but a 85.1 RUN D grade and 80.8 Tackling grade, which is GREAT for a CB.
He primarily played outside CB

Makes me wonder if this dude can play nickel? Seems to be between a good to great athlete. Originally was at South Carolina

48 tackles, only a 7.7% misstackle rate (actually solid-good). had 67 pass targets against him allowing 38 receptions -56.7 reception% which is solid. 15ypc though. and 3 tds to 1 int and only 2 PBUs. 93.4 QB rating allowed and 8 penalties.
