The Scott guy from Auburn stinks. He got benched cause he wanted to play outside and couldn’t stop getting cooked. He also got benched from punt return duties cause he had a problem muffing. If we use him at strictly Nickel he might make it but isn’t that Brantley’s position? Brantley is highly injury prone tho, idk anymore.

I get that, but it’s both of these guys last year and they’re both “nfl caliber” according to folks inside and around the team. But that’s kind of what I was alluding to with the comment about Brantley’s health issues. AU kid stunk in coverage last year tho

Was 2nd team all SEC I believe in '23?

He's either a nickle or a safety, he struggled at corner this year, but I'm not sure he was as bad as it looked as he played through an ankle? We don't need him for outside corner, we need him for our his best spots, likely nickle and possibly safety.

If Etheridge liked him enough to go back to the well despite his struggles this past season, that has to count for something. Was following him to Houston and now to UM.

At the end of the day, he isn’t moving the needle either way so I really don’t understand all the fuss. Just keep him away from the perimeter and let him compete at Nickel.

Brantley has never played slot and Scott excelled in the slot. I think this is a case of being sure they have exactly what they want in the slot and gives them flexibility to play Brantley outside in his natural position.
