He was a true freshman. He was a true freshman who got thrust into a starting role vs Clemson and FSU where the game plan was to mitigate risk. Of course he was inconsistent. Did you expect to see Dan Marino Jr out there?

Passing the ball accurate is something fundamental to playing QB. Since no one wants to talk about that. The want to make it seem like I'm saying something else. That means you agree 💯. Thank you

A 2-game sample with a true freshman with extremely limited snaps? And now you consider him to have accuracy issues based off, arguably, the best two d's we played last year, along with the fact both have hammered us for the past few years?

You could find videos on every qb, NFL included, having a very bad game accuracy wise. Even the greats. It happens. No drops in the FSU game?

Nah your ignorance is on full display, if u think we haven’t had a qb go thru progressions since kaaya then you’re just either clueless or don’t understand what you’re watching lol. There were very few plays for Emory to even have to go thru a full progression because of how limited the playbook was.

And my statement on emory has zero to do with qb recruiting for the last 25 years, and even if it did it still isn’t any better now lmao so idk what point you’re trying to prove. Emory isn’t near some of the qbs we have recruited in that time period, and that shouldn’t be judged based on nfl snaps either.

And all of the extra spending time, watching film amateur **** whatever tf you talking about has ZERO to do with what i posted so idk why u even brought it up.

I literally said in my other post, he seems like a good happy kid that loves football so I wouldn’t mind if he sticks around but when people like you try to rewrite reality then people say the actual truth it comes off as bashing but its not
You got me man. I forgot about all those students of the game like Malik, TVD, Garcia, etc and so on who could process what was in front of them and make good decisions.

You seem pretty sensitive about the “and all the extra spending time, watching film amateur **** whatever tf” statement.

I’m sure you’ve got some valid points. Unfortunately referring to essentials of the position as amateur shows where you are at and requires no further time from those like myself. Good day.

I don’t think most of those guys represent a major upgrade over TVD. TVD’s biggest issue is interceptions and half those guys throw picks at a higher rate than him.

It’s OK. Lots of people think like fans because any new guy HAS to be better than the last guy right? The backup quarterback is always the favorite player. Trading mid for mid isn’t exactly what I consider getting better.

Turnovers kill, mighty big “biggest issue” to have.

Not so sure anyone’s favorite QB on the roster is the backup. By all accounts Cam Ward looks to be the difference maker we’ve been hoping for.

What are we supposed to judge a player on if not for what we actually see in games? Now I understand the game film is limited so you can’t just close the book and say “this dude’s a bum” but you can’t just write off what actually happened. There’s much less evidence that he’s good. You’ve got dudes here calling him Ken Dorsey and saying he’s the only quarterback we’ve had in 20 years that can read a defense. That **** is ridiculous. Especially since pretty much every pass call for him has been a one read call. Because that’s what you have to do with a freshman quarterback who isn’t ready to play yet. If fans want to be proud of his poise in big games and hope he can improve his passing ability and maybe push to start in a year or two, that’s perfectly reasonable but referring to a dude who has like 70 career attempts as the next Ken Dorsey is hilarious.

Emory can watch 100 hours of film a day and he wont be better than malik or tvd bro..its ok lol he’s not better than jake either. Intangibles are very important but you cant study yourself into having more talent

And im not sensitive at all, i think you’re projecting that because you brought up that when i literally never mentioned it…I said word for word he loves football and i hope he sticks around..Maybe you’re sensitive because you love emory more than most here but dont project and say my ignorance is showing or im sensitive because i stated the reality

Call it amateur or whatever you want, i never dismissed it because it doesn’t matter i dismissed it because it was irrelevant to what i posted. And “those like myself “as if you are above others here lmao man shut up

I never said he was Dorsey, but I would love if he came close.
Again, to small of a sample to conclude that he is no good. Tons of true freshman qb's in both college and pros have had much much worse stats where I guess you would say the same? And these would be a larger sample to judge then just 2 games as a true freshman. Along with more reps in practice for most.

Wait for Ward to throw a pick or two in a game or lose a game. It’s because fans give all the credit and all the blame to the quarterback. People here have been crying for backup quarterbacks for years. Jake Garcia, N’Kosi Perry, Tate Martell, anyone who backed up Brad Kaaya. Whenever those guys got a chance to play, they were usually worse thus showing fans why they were the backup in the first place. It’s not just a Miami thing either. Every fanbase thinks this way. The “guy who starts isn’t good enough so the backup HAS to be better than him”. Like the coaches don’t work with these guys every day in practice. Or they’re just starting the worse player because they’re idiots who want to lose games and get fired. Fans always want to believe Kurt Warner is on the bench and as soon as he gets his chance, he’s going to take the starting job and win championships. Especially if the backup does get a chance and wins a game or two (remember when Perry beat FSU?). The thing is it almost never works. For every Kurt Warner there’s 500 backup quarterbacks who eventually show why they were the backup in the first place. They say “fan” is short for “fanatic” but it’s also short for “fantasy”.

If the sample is too small to make a conclusion that he’s not good, then it is definitely too small to make a conclusion that he is good. That’s all I’m saying.

There are multiple posts in here comparing him to Dorsey you might not have made them but they are there for you to read.

Totally agree. I expect Ward to turn the ball over enough between the occasional pick and his ball security issues. To me it’s all about the timing of the turnovers just like it’s about the timing of when the ball hits the ground, aka incompletions.

I can guaranteed you no one is calling for either backup over ward. He is going to throw picks. Every qb throws them the key is to minimize it

Dealing with uncertainty isn't a CIS community strength.

If everything goes to plan, probably not. Lose a game we shouldn’t lose, maybe turn the ball over a little too much (He fumbled 14 times last year) and there will definitely be people here calling for his head.

Logic thinking is that there’s nobody else on the roster anywhere near as good and he gives us the best chance to win by a mile but logic goes out the window when fans get their feelings involved. There’s always a group of people who believe that the better player is on the bench and the coaches are just playing favorites because…I have no idea. People here were complaining that Restrepo was stealing snaps from Brashard Smith last year.

Yep, isn't this what we did with Brown 😁.In GAMES that's what I saw. That's all that I have to go by. It ain't hard

You’re using your same amateur eye to discount Emory’s abilities. An underdeveloped True Freshmen ( I could care less if he wins out or not - get the best you can next year) is incapable because of what YOU saw in two games against 2 of the top defenses in the country.

Come the ***** on Bruh!
You are SUS A.F. - We have him this year either way. Let the kid develop and if the coaches don’t see it next year THE team can move on and YOU can come back with receipts. Until STFU bashing the kid and his skills.

FYI what football have you played? Coached? Just shout out your credentials !!

@DTP This bruh from a DLineman…
“Stuff like that just helps us compete. We love that from a quarterback. We all just love talking smack. We’re just having fun with it. That’s the main thing.
What I hate about Cam Ward is that when he has a good play or a good day, we’re going to hear it all the way to the locker room. We’re going to hear it all the way to team meetings, to dinner. So I don't like when he makes plays because he's going to talk about the whole day.”

Coach Mario knows he can never have a QB like TVD again. When he was he first got here he was stuck and thought he could coach him into this…. Sometimes that’s possible. Fight/Flight - TVD was a run away Dude. Hindsight is 20/20 now.

Not sure why you put me in this. I’m one of the biggest proponents for Cam Ward here. I’m the one saying we NEED elite quarterbacks and not to settle for mediocre guys.
