Post Game Plus/Minus

Yeah that roughing the passer call was complete and utter bull****. I still can’t decide if the late hit out of bounds was a legitimate penalty or not...but the hit was unnecessary regardless. McCloud in both instances.

I definitely want to see Thomas and Dallas getting more touches going forward. DjD looked so smooth in the open field.

Another negative (not that you could evaluate since you were at the game) - the broadcast team. They were awful and I hope they never do another Miami game for the rest of their short careers.

I thought in the pregame broadcast one of the guys was cross eyed. Not Stouffer, but the other dude.

If you didn't know teams records Stauffer couldhave convinced you that MIami was 1-7 and **** Heelswere 7-0. He should be banned from doing any HUrricane game ever. He will have his opportunity in the future to eat his own ****, the guy with the big ears, and on and on with these clowns.

Plus: Deejay Dallas. Give the dude some carries

That guy was explosive when he caught the ball, I was surprised as ****. He might be our slot receiver of the future if Thomas stays on the outside. We will not need him at RB next year with the 2 studs we are bringing in.

I know broadcast teams are usually horrific but holy f*cking sh*t those guys were sooooo bad. How in the world are they actually paid employees of ESPN?

As it was posted in another thread, the correct announcer identities were Jason Benatti and Kelly Stouffer

Stouffer is a CSU guy who has this distinction:

29. Kelly Stouffer - The 50 Worst Quarterbacks in NFL History | Complex

Benatti is ANOTHER Syracuse guy employed by CEO John Skipper's ESPN. Oh, where did Skipper graduate from? UNC.

Nothing like being from the Bob Costas' Tool School (Yes, Donna went there too!) and trying to butter up the boss before the pink slips go out at "The Worldwide Leader."

And people wonder how UNC got off so easy...Emmert has an MPA from Syracuse along with Swofford and the BIG's Delanny being UNC guys...Connections, Connections...

"+We Won
This was my 4th trip to Chapel Hill to see the Canes and it was the first time I drove home after a W. DGAF how it happened. Also, since I just got home, I have no idea what the running narrative has been on the board all day since the game ended. Don't really care either."

Amen, Dan. Growing tired of everyone complaining about us beating fsu and everyone else but ugly. Think TCU or psu would have taken a nasty dirt crap embarrassingly ugly win yesterday? How sad was urban for getting pushed around all day at home and having to come back from down a bunch for a last minute win to keep from losing TWO home games in one year? He seemed pretty happy to me.

I prefer 70-0 wins over everyone but there is tremendous value in learning how to win when you are not playing well. Sustained drives are great; but quick strikes death blows work too. I'm looking toward playing Bama or UGA or OSU in the playoffs after winning ugly against Clemson. Does anyone think that us scoring every drive with 7 minutes of ball control, converting every 3rd down and stopping every opponents drive with a 3 and out in every game so far is going to mean crap in any of those games? Are we going to dominant Bama in anyone wildest imagination? No. We will need to win an ugly game where D holds when it needs to and O scores when is must; a game where, after it is over, everyone will say "Bama was clearly the better team and would win 99 out of 100 time against Miami, but ......." That is the game we might be ready for, not an a... kicking of a team that has crushed college football for a decade. We will need to do to Bama what psu did to us that horrible day in AZ -- win ugly against a superior team.

+Jeff Thomas
Scored another TD on a deep ball and looked more comfortable out there as the game went on. Shook off some early mistakes and finished off the game well.

+Michael Jackson
Dude is racking up turnover chains this season #NotAJewler . Also, that deflection he had down the sideline was a thing of beauty.

+Braxton Berrios
Came down with a great diving catch for a big gain, one that he dropped last week. Also caught the game winner which is nice. But this was the highlight of the game for me:

6EuDw6r.gif

Flipping the U right side up, while staring at all those wine and cheese UNC boosters, was a thing of beauty. It drew a pretty big pop from the visitors section, which Berrios acknowledged by pointing to all of us as he went back to the sideline. I could tell he did it for me. We're basically best friends now.

Minus:

-The Offense
Rather than ****ting on 1 guy or position group, I'll just throw them all in together. The running game was nonexistent, Rosier had his ups and downs as usual, back to back sacks of Rosier, untimely turnovers, guys dropping balls...it was rough. Luckily we made enough big plays on offense to get the W.

-Having A 3rd String QB and RB do good things against us
I'm not that down about the defense for this game. They are the only reason we weren't losing at halftime. But we still cant get off the field on 3rd down, and these guys had no business putting a scare into us today.

-ACC Refs
Same old ****. The late hit flag on whoever knocked Surratt out of the game was complete bull****. The ref basically walked up to Surratt's body and leaned over as if to ask "are you ok, buddy?" and then threw the flag.

Thoughts?

I can be one of the biggest curmudgeonly caustic, a-holes on this board, but, after the last decade and a half, I'm not going to act like a p---y about a win...any god**** win. However, three thoughts, since you asked Dan, and I'm drunk:

1) Some of our fans are knee jerking to the media construct that we are somehow undeserving because we've won close games...well, no ****, in a year where there are only 3-4 dominant teams and a **** ton of 'okay' ones, we are staying at the top of the 'also-ran' pack. Excuse freaking us if we don't give a ****. Suck it ESPN, in the time it took me to type this paragraph, you lost another 500 subscribers.

2) We're winning ugly. Our OL sometimes can't run block their way out of a wet paper sack, our QB occasionally has trouble completing a forward pass, and our scheme occasionally resembles something Richt Drew up on a Huddle House napkin at 3:00 am. I'll still freaking take it, just based on those timely sequences that elevate higher than just about anything else the last decade and a half of ineptitude has provided.

3) There's a distinct possibility that Virginia Tech, and their lunchpail brand of Appalachian incest, is a better football team than we are this year...

But I don't give a ****. We have an opportunity. To stop being doom and gloom pussies, pack out the stadium formerly known as Joe Robbie, and blow Ross's new roof right off the god**** place.

So, who gives a **** about #s 1, 2, or 3? I'm going to Hard Rock on Saturday, getting drunk, and bringing 60,000 of my *******, angry, friends with me. The sandman cometh Virgina Tech, you bunch of Mountain Dew swigging, DC-school rejects. Except the sandman wears a chin strap beard, a cheaply made DymeLife turnover chain T-shirt, and has been drinking rum since the blue lot opened. Let's f-ck 'em up.

I’m with this dude!!! ^^^ Someone get this man another 7&7!

I know it sounds like whining but has an opposing OL been called for a hold yet this season?

Minus: 2017 Ahmmon Richards. Not sure what the deal is. Had great hands last year

He played a first round CB today in MJ Stewart p...just chill

The bad hammy would be a better excuse. An elite college WR does not get completely shut down. Whatever his issues, he shouldn't be starting until it's figured out. We have no shortage of good receivers.

Stoufer was a lousy qb in the pros hada cup of coffee, but he is in the wrong profession, he is terrible and if espn were smart (which they are not) they would ban him from CANES games. I thought Wishshin and Brock Hurad were good and did their homework and we easy to listen.

Stoufer's like the SMD of broadcasting.

wasnt that brian griese if so..hes been announcing for quite some time now..and sucks at it just like his dad

No Griese wasn't on that broadcast team. It was Kelly Stouffer and the other guy who was crosseye. Watch the reply. The first couple of minutes before kickoff.

Stouffer was a hater. I remember that dude when i was growing up and he was garbage. Bad analysis with a clear agenda.

The reason why they work for ESPN is that they will work for **** near free and ESPN let go of just about all their top talent with respects to calling a game. Bunch of ****ers now.
