Ok, if everything plays out how I think it does we end playing florida in the Orange (We beat NC, bama beats the gaytes in the secc). How do you guys honestly think we match up with them? I’m calling a shootout if we meet.

You’ll shoot your eye out, kid.

Possibly, though CBS Sports predicts if we win out we will probably play Texas A&M in the OB.

Week old but I don't mind this projection:

Miami v Iowa State in the Cotton Bowl. I want whatever matchup is best for allowing Miami to finish 11-1. That would be the best finish since 2002's championship team (you know that was Miami's). My preference is still vs Cincy in the Peach Bowl, but at least the Cotton Bowl is a NY6 and we have some good memories for there.

I agree. As much as I dislike the Gaytors playing them in the OB does nothing for me. Yawn. I would find TAMU, Iowa State, or even Cincinnati more interesting opponents.

As much as I hate ND - it would be a disaster to put Texas A&M with 1 loss over a 1 loss ND that played for their conference championship. They've already taken it up the *** from Alabama once. Who wants to see that again? At least give them new blood in ND

A&M has limped past 5 bad teams (Vandy, Miss State, LSU, Auburn, and Arkansas)

If they want to put A&M in over OSU.. that's another conversation that I could get behind

This is where I'm at at this point. Get a quality bowl game that gives us the best chance to win. We need to recruit at an elite level consistency. We have a really really good class and need to build off of it. A potential 11-1 season with a Cotton Bowl win is a starter.

I’m the complete opposite. I don’t want to see the Independent Indiana Team under any circumstance. I’d rather the committee put in 3 SEC teams and 5-6 game OSU than the frauds representing the ACuCk.

I mean I get that side of the argument but trying to be as independent as possible for the integrity of the CFP selection...

Put it this way.. what if Miami was 11-0 and playing Clemson (beat them without Trevor as well) and we were sitting at 2 and lost to Clemson.. we'd be pretty ****ed if they threw in A&M with their resumé over us.

The key here is they're being penalized for being in their conference championship and A&M is benefitting from not going to theirs because they would also get whipped.

1- I hate ND so anything that hurts them is good.
2- the SEC, in general, absolutely crushes ND in terms of revenue generated. Orders of magnitude more money in total. So getting in two SEC teams is better for the NCAA's bottom line.
3- Texas A&M is the most profitable and highest revenue program in the country. You can't leave out the highest revenue generating program in CFB.
4- If ND gets waxed by Clemson in the ACC Champ game, I think you'll hear the talking heads on ABC/ESPN banging the drum and saying that ND's earlier win at home should be heavily discounted because Clemson was missing key starters. They'll argue that the results would have been more like the ACC Champ beatdown if Clemson had been healthy. Disney wants the SEC to look good, not ND since ND doesn't get them any money. Every football show will start crapping on ND to make sure the SEC gets in 2 teams.

It's all about dollars and cents, not merit.

Sorry guys but we will not get any better with this mentality. Play against the best team you can get even if you won't win this year.
Play with grownups if you want to belong to the grownup club.

Nobody is saying to root for the Gasparilla Bowl and a FCS opponent. All the NY6 games are going to be against quality teams. But if you aren't looking for the most favorable matchup amongst those eligible teams, I question your sanity.

Yup. I question my sanity sometimes for coming here.
