Possible oc candidates

The other guy was there in 2018 and 2020 when the offense was pretty bad. The one year their offense blew up was the one year that Brady was there.
Yea he was the passing game coord. He made that thing click. It's a fair question about Brady but now I'm looking at Baylor and it seems like it doesn't matter who coaches there. Is Matt Rhule a bust or is Brady the bust....it's a good debate.

The pro game is so different from the college game. In the NFL, you’re at the mercy of your GM to get you the best players and one or two weak drafts can tank your team. College, you ARE the GM and your roster relies completely on how well YOU recruit. I’m not a big fan of hiring college coaches for NFL jobs because it doesn’t necessarily translate from one level to the other. Guys like Steve Spurrier, Nick Saban and so far, Urban Meyer bombed in the league but a guy like Kliff Kingsbury, who had a losing record in college is having success in the NFL.

There’s a reason why the list of guys who have coached a national champion and a super bowl champion is so short.

Exactly. The team with the best players wins the most. But you can’t recruit in the NFL. You gotta draft and you have a salary cap so you can’t just load up your team with the best players at every position like you can do in college

Not to overreact but if Mario is actually given what appears to be an unlimited budget for his support staff and he goes out to get Ponce as his OC...I'l overreact.

If we have to settle for an OC the UVA OC would be an interesting option. They were 3rd in the NCAA in YPG this year

Forgive me if this was mentioned earlier in this thread, but I've been hearing people express that they wanted Ken Dorsey as OC. I don't necessarily like the idea of him being the sole OC, but I'd be good with him being Co-OC/QB and maybe keeping Likens onboard as Co-OC/WR. Especially since Likens is an experienced play caller and already has experience with the players on the offense, that way Dorsey grow. But, that is the only way I'd see it working with Ken as an OC. I prefer Tom Herman.
dudes can't even tell me what type of offense he runs but want him as OC. had he not played QB here they would laugh at the idea of him coming here calling plays. can he recruit? we don't know that either.

He's not bad actually. But I would pay Jeff Grimes silly $$$ to come here if I'm Mario. I wanted Zach Kittley (LCE turned me on to him in a post), but he went to Texas Tech.

Right. “IF” he ever is considered for the position, Co-OC with another experience OC is the only way to go. Other than that, he needs to stay where he is and continue move up ladder. Lol

Kittley is a stud and if they can get Ewers TTech will be a fun team to watch next year
