Possible Lawson replacement?

Is it just the colors and the number or does he kind of resemble Aaron Rodgers? Pretty mobile, big, good arm. Obviously you can't compare one of the best qbs in the NFL with a high school kid but they seem to play with the same style and mentality

James Morgan was 3rd Team/Honorable All State QB in the Fing state of Wisconsin, well that says alot when there are 2 better QB's in state known for its high scoring passing attacks LMAO. But to his credit Morgan seems like a cerebral young man, that is also quick on his feet because he didn't get baited into the reporters leading questions regarding Morgan's interest in Power 5 school offers an how they would be better than the committable offers he had from non power 5 schools.

The major issue I could for see is, that there would be SERIOUS compatibility issues with him an the south Florida kids. He doesn't strike me as the Alpha Male type, that can take charge of an offense. But then again neither did Steve Walsh when he came to Miami under similar circumstances from Minnesota.

Well if UM does offer him, we will have to trust in Coley's eye for recruiting talent on this one.

Look obviously he's not a blue chipper but we are desperate. This kid is tough and big and at worst could be our version of Connette at Duke in a pinch.

As for the "alpha male" ****, what are you basing that on? That short interview? His highlight tape? Not saying you're wrong but ****** a I am sick of this alpha/beta ****.

A kid I like is 2015 QB Jack Lowary from California's QB factory of Mater Dei High School. The kid is 6'4" 215lbs with a live arm and athletic for his size., his problem is he can get emotional at times causing him to be erratic in his QB play. UM has always done well with Cali QB's, so if we are going to take a QB late then, why not take a chance on one that comes well coached from a passing west coast power house.

Look UM's locker room tends to have rougher cultural element where as Morgan is more of the midwest nice guy vibe. Don't be dense about this you know fulllll well what I am talking about. Now if he can play ball that could be the equalizer. But like I said I like the fact that he is a cerebral guy which means he can understand and manage the game to get the ball to the playmakers as well as make audibles, which is even more important.

Before you look at who he has offers from watch his film. FSU's backup had 1 other offer, from Buffalo, yet they got him and beat Clemson with him this year. It's either this guy or have 3 QBs on the roster. His composite rating is better than Lawson's anyway.

Great points. I didnt even compare his rankings to Lawson. But yeah, this kid is actually good on film. I couldnt find his 2014 numbers, but last year he had 26 TDS to 8 Ints/ Not bad at all.

My rival high school. Have actually kept an eye on him, he can play a little. And if NDSU likes him he is a solid player...they don't **** around.

I have to agree I watched NDSU's Semi-Final Game last night an yeah their QB's have been productive at the FCS level an have also beat a few FBS good teams, including a Kansas St Team in Kansas, that handed Miami our *** when we played them. Not to mention this guy would a few years to sit an develop behind Kaaya.

Ya man their QB right now could play for about anyone. He's huge, cannon for an arm, and runs well.

NDSU is a top 50 program in college football, period.

Also, not for nothing, but the coach at Bowling Green is from the Art Briles tree... He knows what a college QB looks like.

Is the ndsu coach a good candidate for the Miami job?

Here are his Senior Year stats and Combined career stats
http://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/story/sports/high-school/football/2014/10/02/high-expectations-fire-drive-jaguars-morgan/16615847/

The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder has completed 60 percent of his passes for 1,808 yards and 19 touchdowns with four interceptions this season. According to Wissports.net, he leads the state in passing yards and is tied for the lead in TD passes.

Morgan, who is 20-4 as a starter, has thrown for 5,891 yards and 55 TDs with 21 interceptions in his prep career. He averages 255.8 passing yards per game and has a 4-to-1 ratio for touchdowns to interceptions during his junior and senior seasons.

He is smart with the ball, but will definitely have to adjust to a faster game in College with much tighter throwing windows.

Nah, this is his first year as a Head Coach he was promoted to HC from DC after the old NDSU coach left to become the HC at Wyoming.

Same could have been said about Dorsey put of high school. Came off like Opie. But it's all about willingness to put it on the line. Doesn't come through in a high school interview.

Lovely. Played high school ball for preble. Times have changed since then but the competition is below average at best. Good coaching for his team.

Yeah, rough in the locker room and quitters on the field.

Lot of stupid comments here. Over the years, some of our toughest kids came from Wisconsin.

Canesport say Riley Neal is the guy. Hard to think we could flip him though. Looks like he is a solid commitment to BALL STATE.

If he's good enough for powers like Bowling Green and NDSU he's good enough for UM. NDSU won a ton of games in FCS.

That would be a nearly impossible flip. Although you never know. Didn't we flip Daniel Steagle from Arkansas State when Coker was HC?

Is it just the colors and the number or does he kind of resemble Aaron Rodgers? Pretty mobile, big, good arm. Obviously you can't compare one of the best qbs in the NFL with a high school kid but they seem to play with the same style and mentality
Looks a lot like Aaron Rodgers. I'm seeing some Peyton Manning and Joe Montana in there too.

every white QB is the next Aaron Rodgers

MAC has put some pretty solid qb's into the NFL over the last 10-12 years. Also, I think Coley identifying qb's thus far so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

I know right. I think Golden should look out for white TE's from the MAC as well. Look at JJ Watt.
