Possible Gator game date change

Like $200, usually. Sometimes a little more. If you have status, it’s usually free.

I was ****ed when they canceled the Arkansas State game for a hurricane in Florida that never happened. But you get over it.

If it will generate more eyeballs on the TV, then it’s good for the school, good for recruiting, good for the program.

Thing is Miami always has had alum and fans everywhere, while the gators all,live within a half tank of gas from swampland. Bigger deal for our fans than theirs, who also drive their hotel rooms.

If this is being discussed it's not by the schools imo. This is a TV power play for huge ratings and a ton more money.

A few thousand fans being affected isn't going to make them change a date that can generate millions more in TV revenue.

I’d imagine they’d move up the start date of fall camp. Pretty sure the ncaa mandates how much they can be practice before the season starts.

I’m curious if Miami and Florida have agreed to this. Or if their consent is even necessary. Having an off week so early and starting fall practice an extra week early do not seem advantageous

Yeah practice time wouldnt change. Arizona and Hawaii play Week 0 and they're starting camp a week sooner as a result

UM and UF petitioning the NCAA to move the date. No real competition that day. ESPN would come to Orlando.

How is having another bye not an advantage? Gives us a week to recover after a physical game and an extra week to prepare for UNC.

So we'd play @UNC coming off a bye while UNC would have to play us coming off SCar.

I agree completely. The timing is awful. And it has been going on for longer than 2 weeks.

Look, I have been hearing that the spring game is pretty much a done-deal in coming to Orlando, yet here we are, 7 weeks from the spring game, and still no announcement.

Same thing is happening for the Kickoff game.

I contacted someone in the know today when this was mentioned and he had no information about this and said fans/season ticket holders would be immediately informed if this was the case. Maybe he was kept out of the loop or couldn't answer but he is in charge of the top donors/season ticket holders. Not sure if this has legs but as I told him, I've already booked a place and my vacation is in the process of being approved. This would be some real BS!
