Richt did the same **** at Georgia always missing a good player or two/three.

Nothing wrong with your beliefs Jeeperaf, I just am over it. I am one of those kind of guys who have seen this movie before. Not saying we have to run a dirty program, but Richt won't win him I am firmly convinced. We will be better than under Golden more disciplined and win more games, but hey let's hope I am wrong. But I will save this post and revisit this in two years.

Exactly my point. Richt doesn't like wild stallions! I've seen this Richt movie too many times.

I hear you loud and clear...and dont disagree with you...you bring up an excellent point...and if folks cant see it...they arent looking..Richt's way does put him at a touch of a competitive disadvantage against Saban, Meyer, Freeze, Mullen, etc...

I think we'll see if the Miami program, and the athletes it attracts, can help to mitigate that disadvantage and finally push Richt into the "every year ACCCG team" and "every year CFP team" category...

time will tell...

I'm kinda surprised at the amount of posters on here that are ok with it if Richt suspends Bruce. You do exactly what Saban did in your example. Any type of suspension is bullshat imo.

I think the only reason people are okay with it is because of the timing and the belief that IF Bruce needs to be put in check that the best time in his entire career would be now- at the very start of it and where the game time missed would be almost irrelevant. It's not like he's going to transfer or anything but that's also assuming he actually needs the discipline and Richt isn't just using him to send a message to other players and future recruits/LOI signers.

Suspending a kid for doing something dumb in HS is beyond retarded despite any possible rationalization or explanation. He wasn't even charged with anything.

It's absurd. I am holding out hope the suspension does not take place. Guys make stupid mistakes in games. You don't suspend them for it.

So, lets look at what Sam Bruce did.

Was he arrested for breaking the law? No.

Did he assault a woman or man? No.

Did he put paper in his mouth, chew the paper until it became a little paper pellet, spit the paper pellet through a straw and hit a teacher? No.

Did he give a Nerd a wedgie? No.

Did he push a kid into bushes and then yell, "BUSHES Beeeyatch?" No.

Did he call student a ****? No.

Did he ask Cindy "have you see Dees" and Cindy said "Dee Who" and then he said "Dees Nuts?" No.


He sent a picture of himself with a gun, which could have been a fake gun, while in his private residence.

My solution: After a second rough 2-A-Day practice, call a tired Sam Bruce over and have Felder introduce him to the Mark Light Stadiums steps. That would be the end of it...............if anything.

For the two mongoloids, DC1986 and RedCrank, I don't need Google to tell me how Jizzbo handled Jameis. Jizzbo didn't sit him for Clemson, you imbeciles.

Jizzbo fought FSU like grim death over that whole thing, and the Clemson suspension was actually another example of Jizzbo stumping for Jameis. The whole week leading up to that game he was busy minimizing Jameis's "fck her in the DC1886" tirade.

Didn't Winston embarrass Fisher during warm ups for the suspended Clemson game by wearing full pads and ready to play?

I think he painted Fisher into a corner as he [Fisher] angrily (at least for TV cameras) sent him [Winston] off the field and back to the locker room...
 
UGA has had tons of players arrested during Richts tenure Nd he kept many of them around. He doesn't have a reputation for playing choir boys. We didn't see what Bruce sent but it was big enough to get him kicked out of school. Relax, Bruce will be fine.
 
Wouldn't you guys rather him learn a lesson now rather than later and miss a meaningful game? I mean Coach Richt should set the tine now and get control of the team now. I have no problems with it. I mean it did happen while he was in HS but set the tone early and hope to limit the issues you have later. Maybe had Art Briles punished somebody/anybody all that **** at Baylor may not have happened and he may still have a job. You give kids/athletes an inch and many of them will take a mile...

There's very little correlation between suspending guys and teaching them or changing the behavior. By suspending him, he's taking the easy way out and sucking up to the media and the old tool fans.

It's not worthy of being labeled a UM Suspension. If the Pastor is that bothered by the HS BS, just don't play him in game 1. Just don't talk about it. Talking about it is lame and petty......bush league. Ammunition for opposition in recruiting.

Especially with there being no history of the behavior. The thought of a suspension burn me up.

Fran, I see the Golden pillarization happening. Folks are acting like the Pastor can do no wrong. Well, suspending a kid for minor HS stupidity is UNINTELLIGENT as best.

Wrong. Just flat out wrong. Anyone who has experience managing and/or leading (two VERY different skill sets) organizations, both small and large, will disagree with what you stated.

Competitive athletic teams, in just the respect from the "team" perspective, are similar to first responders, war fighters, etc. "Bought in" members will do what they can, to include putting their own behaviors, desires, and health to the back or at risk, in order to not let their team mates down by not being on/out in the field for them. Almost word for word when something like this happens, you get the "I let my team mates down". The ones who are truly contrite or "get it", regardless if they agreed with the punishment or not, typically do not engage in the behavior that started it in the first place (or are better at not getting caught again).

The ones who don't get it, are very typically far more trouble to the organization than they are worth, no matter how talented (perceived or real).

I suspect Richt at least feels like he knows what he's doing...so keep on keeping on..at least until tje Ls are piling up.

So Richt is a failure now for suspending a player? lol yall goofy af and for those saying nice guys dont win, then yall must not remember the coach we had that one two ships for us, Dennis Erickson...bout as nice guy as it gets. Just think of it this way, none of our previous coaches that won ships had anywhere near the record and criteria that Richt has coming in. Just cool your jets and stop acting like we already failed under him.
