**** the pillars! Its how you do anything! How you do anything is how you do everything!
Huh?
Richt was making $5M. Mario is making $8M.
And/or KnightonCould’ve been Smith trashing Thad Franklin to someone he knows.
Uncorroborated speculation from The Athletic leading to more uncorroborated speculation here.
Who knows the accuracy of this particular report. It may be true, it may be an exaggeration, or it may be completely untrue.
What’s funny, are the flights of fancy that people come up with here, bringing in their own speculative stories and narratives based on this dubious report, which may or may not be correct, and then using that as a basis for fantasy scenarios by people that have no inside knowledge.
Gossip girl, 2.0.
And isn’t every team flipping the roster one to extent or another? At least specific position groups?Do they really have to tell recruits they flipping the roster? I mean it's obvious
Richt was making right around $4m. On their 990s from back then.I saw Richt was making 4 and change. Guesstimate since UM didn't make it public. Where did you see 5?
Also I'm not sure how the contracts are written, but it would seem reasonable to have come kind of adjustment clause in the contract to match inflation. If getting 8 mil per year due to a 10 yr, 80 million contract (guesstimate), but the inflation rate is at 6.5% (which it is currently), that adds up to $520,000 per year of lost spending power. Just a couple years of that and Cristobal would effectively be making less than $7 million per year. Seems unlikely that he or his agent would hand wave away millions and let his salary get eaten away by inflation.
Our record should have told the players what’s up. Hilarious they sound surprised. Catch the **** ball. One of the players whose family I know fairly well has said it happened in the WR group - I wasn't posting or following much back then but I thought remembered a rumor that there was a kid on the team telling recruits to stay away and that's how this came up.
Wouldn't be surprised if it was Smith, Strong, etc as well.. Nothing would surprise me. But it was definitely happening with Gattis.
Also you walk a thin line when you recruit this way.. maybe you don't get into specific names or be as specific in the criticism if that's what happened... but Mario created that culture (I have no problem with it - it's not ideal for the current generation and their feelings) that we're selling to recruits that what we have isn't very good and we need you. That was half of their recruiting pitch this year. Seems someone took it a bit too far saying x,y,z sucked or something if it blew up within the current position group.
Takes a combination of multiple things to have that kind of year. The horrible staff? 100% Mario.Oh this is all Diaz's fault!
It's somewhere in the last two...If it was Charlie Strong I say good job as it apparently worked with the LB recruiting success, and was true.
People hate the truth.
Yet another truth. The following position coaches could have been accused of the same thing considering how bad the team was last year:
OL
WR
LB
S
CB
Why phrase it like this? His contract is 10 yrs 80 mil (I think lol). Why embellish? Would your point not hit as hard if you had said 8 million? Just curious. It’s odd.….. a coach making almost 9 million per year..
Wheres the training wheels? He hired a who's who of coaches. Y'all crack me the **** up. Last year he gets all the big names. Let the complaints begin. Now he goes a different route to correct that. Let the complaints begin. Don't allow how miserable you are in life to become you.One would like to believe that a coach making almost 9 million per year and with about a decade of head coaching experience wouldn't need training wheels. Well, here's to hoping he gets it right in season 2 at UM.
