What needs to be decided above all, is whether or not Mario is gonna stay married to the "tUFf aNd fiZiCuLL!" philosophy.
If he is, then he needs to lean into it.
Load up on RB's, get multiple blocking TE's, a mobile QB & an OC that runs Pistol/Read-Option Offense.
Otherwise, he's gonna have to move out of the way & stop imposing on the Offense. Let the OC man the ship.
Good article from a plugged-in dude who worked for Mario and led the Portal rankings for 247:

Transfer portal 2026: 10 players who could shake up college football offseason
A wave of quarterback movement, coaching changes, and blue-chip frustration is about to reshape college footballwww.cbssports.com
Would take Seaton even if Bell stays. No Lagway? He seems to be on all the portal-possible lists.
Would not mind OT Jordan Seaton if Markel Bell opts for the draft.
WR Cam Coleman could likely turn pro.
Despite a lot of hopes it’s interesting that he did not have Cal QB JKS on this
I have said I don’t think he’s leaving - his absence makes me more convinced
I would take Baugh in a heartbeat.Everyone talking about QBs, but Mario looks at this list and is only excited by Jadan Baugh to mimic Iowa's offense.
/Baugh is legitimately awesome though.
i think he'll stay out west.Despite a lot of hopes it’s interesting that he did not have Cal QB JKS on this

I def want the young guys to work in, but there have been injuries and we have zero quality TEs playing right now at a grown man position. Why not let one of the young guns play
Bring me North Texas QB and his HC as OC
Man if we can get Jayden Baugh that can be a game changer in our backfield. It’ll be like having Martinez again but Baugh is probably a bit more athletic.
Wouldn't the most obvious thing to do in your case if Mario wants to lean, is essentially grab Sellers and run the Ravens offense. I mean dam, with a big downhill en, and a QB that can move the defense horizontally and have a slot like Zay but we have Toney. Plus big outside receivers like them, that's the blueprint. What needs to be decided above all, is whether or not Mario is gonna stay married to the "tUFf aNd fiZiCuLL!" philosophy.
