Happy with any 3. For awhile it seemed strong and Mario were contenders

He is the hungriest, most motivated and most no ***ks given guy out of these three.

That's what we need. Not another nice, PR robot.

Butch is the only one that fills these boxes.
 
I voted Butch because I just don't see Richt out-coaching anyone for a NC and I don't think Richt has that dog in him. Butch might not out-coach anyone for a NC either, but I think he still might have that dog in him. Plus he might out-talent his way to a NC (he would have in 2001 and at UNC). Richt has had the most talented team in the country a couple times, and still hasn't made it out of the SEC. Maybe at UM he can recruit the most talented team ever, and that will get him over the hump.
 
I guess this poll is why they're going so hard after Richt.

Have to get a guy who can coach, and win the battle of public opinion.

I'll take Richt over Butch, too.

Those are perhaps the dumbest three boxes I have ever heard of.

What's needed is a coach who knows HOW TO COACH, Can assemble a staff, Recruit and Develop. Those are the boxes. Period.

Butch has been UNEMPLOYED for 7 of the last 11 years. The other 4 years he went .470 in the ACC. What Butch Davis did before the Class of 2017 was Born should not be forgotten but it certainly shouldnt be THE reason he is hired 16-18 years later. WE ALL LOVE WHAT BUTCH DID FOR US 17 Years ago, though half the BBB fans were in Diapers when he did it. Butch spent 4 years in the ACC and the BEST he could do was 3rd in the COASTAL and .500 winning percentage!!!!

Richt will get you doubles and triples all game long but no home runs. Butch will strike out a lot, but then hit a walk off home run in the bottom of the 9th.

I would prefer Butch, but would be ok with any of the three. Also whoever is hired must fire Swasey.
 
Butch is more trustworthy than Richt if you're a Canes fan. You know he really wants it and you know he understands the environment and can function in it. He can evaluate talent like no one and he'll place players at positions where they will succeed.

Richt and Mullen are both quality coaches. Richt isn't as mean as I'd like and I don't like Mullen's offense for UM. Patterson is the one I'd covet most and he's not coming.

BUTCH or BUST.

Butch's ceiling is creating the greatest team ever assembled. That's something that draws my interest for the next few years.

The hiring of any of the other top candidates is not going to make me run out and buy season tickets. I don't think a Richt hiring pumps the much needed energy into our program.

It would make sense that a dumb@$$ such as yourself would see my post as "the three dumbest boxes that you've ever heard off."

The 3 things that our teams were always known for were an aggressive, savage, in your face defense. It looked at times like there were 22 Canes on the field because our gang tackling was so vicious and precise. Our dudes were everywhere. Always attacking downhill.

Preparation beyond none. Our practices under Butch were harder than most games.
Our guys were in tip top shape and played free, meaning they were also mentally ready.

And last, but not least. Our guys were NEVER afraid of anyone. When they went out on that field, they were ready to murk the other team. Also, they played hard as **** and didn't quit.

You definitely are not an old-school fan. J.J. was a great motivator but always had great coordinators, Butch being one of them.

What separates Urban and Saban isn't them being the best X's and O's guys. That's why they hire the best coordinators.

What separates them is their competitive fire, their motivational skills and their ability do develop talent and to unleash it to its full potential. These guys get their guys to believe 100% that they are the best and most prepared team on any given Saturday.

Dantonio and Patterson are cut from the same cloth, and I believe Bob Stoops might be also. But none of these guys are coming here.

There are lots of great X's and O's coaches but how far did that get them? We need a guy like Butch to build the team, motivate the guys, develop them and unleash them with a great OC and DC.

Is this so hard to comprehend?
