Pete, what's his speed like (smith)? We taking quite a few safeties this class do we miss out on 2018 safeties like jobe, hall, etc? I'm still concerned about CB any update on dean?

What happened in the past two days to make him a take? Assuming he's a safety, I don't remember hearing anything that would develop a need at safety.

Awesome Podcast Pete! Just watched Smith's film, and no offense to Collier but with out current lack of depth at Safety next year this guy is better than Collier. Has better ball skills, size wise he looks more college ready than Collier, and more physical as well. If we grab Edwards and Dean, this DB haul is lookin not too shabby after all.

I think so to and that is maybe why they went after him. This guy is more of a hitter and Collier is faster but needs S&C and to learn the position more fully.

I don't see it happening with Shawn Davis period or even kemore gamble. Both of them boys appear to be all the way locked in to uf...

From another site regarding Derrick Smith . I do not know the validity of it.
"For those that don't remember, he was at the Paradise Camp and had a less than stellar outing. From everything I read, we were high on him up until then. He even wanted to commit either before or during the season but he wasn't a take. Then the staff cooled on him and months later...BOOM. Maybe he's not a shorts and shirt, 7 on 7 type of player, maybe he plays his best during the actual game. "
