Nah fam, there is no reason we can't find a way to get Pope/Hightower on the field and get them some good looks. Hightower proved it in the biggest game we played last year. You have to get guys like Pope/Hightower on the field and involved. Its great that Tate knows where ppl should line up but hes not going up against 4star DBs and Mossing them like Hightower

Here’s the thing. I didn’t listen to the podcast but in regards to Tate, Pope and Hightower, they dont play the same positions. Everyone here wants us to play all 9 WR on our roster. Thomas and KJ have their Spitsbergen on lockdown. In the NFL, they don’t rotate 8 WR. I don’t understand the fascination with giving everyone snaps and rotating. You play your best players the most amount of snaps they can possibly play. I think we will see Pope and Hightower get more snaps as the season goes on, but clearly the staff didn’t feel they were ready/needed against UF. We have heard multiple times that Pope didn’t know they plays last year. You think he knows a more complex offense this year?

I like Hightower and want him on the field more. The other guys still have a lot to prove. With Pope, I would try to get him the ball on jet sweeps and screens to use his athleticism.

I def understand that him not knowing the playbook is a problem. Just feel like we have weapons on offense that we continue to neglect and not take advantage of. Hopefully you are right that as the season progresses, we take better advantage of all our weapons

It’s been stated byEnos himself that he’s a perfectionist or strives for it. I would think he’s hesitant to involve a player that doesn’t fully know the playbook. I would think he breaks into a cold sweat watching kids that don’t grasp the offense. You’re right too much skill to sit but THEY need to get up to speed.

I watched duke play bama with 2 freshman offensive tackles and bamas edge rushers didn’t wreck their offense like uf’s did vs Miami. I hope They improve but I have No patience for just trotting out a combo of Nelson and Campbell when you have a suitable option in scaife at tackle. That was legitimately the worst ot play I’ve ever seen.

Martell might be able to do some things down the line at receiver and he’s capable for sure and I’m for him on making that move. but playing over guys like Hightower, pope, Payton, Wiggins this early on? That’s not the ideal decision for Diaz to make right now. Yes they have a lot to prove but give them a chance to do it in the game first, can’t just give that opportunity away that quickly to a newcomer at the position. That’s not good for the morale of the group who aren’t playing as much. Obviously everyone knows I defend tate sometimes but just keeping it real.

Plus it’s not really conducive to have 3 receivers on the field at the same time under 6’0 which we currently have in our starting group 2 of which are 5’10 or under. Pope 6’0 or6’1, payton 6’1, Hightower and Wiggins both over 6’3 all bring a different element to the offense that we need. Those directly after the starters pope and Hightower have to be used better soon. So that means no more jet sweeps to Osborn, only Thomas or pope should run. More rpo’s it doesn’t take rocket science to be able to execute that. Also using Hightower more as a deep threat who can go up and get it. Really he can be used in any type of route

If JT4 can grasp a playbook then any of our other guys can do it as well. Im tired of the ole, "he don't know the playbook" bullsh1t. This is all about trying to satisfy Tate , whom was probably promised playing time to lessen the wombs from the qb competition. I don't want to hear this lame excuse that he's playing the y and the others play the x or z bs. What was our status at wr before Tate fail short as the qb. Were we hearing a dire need for a slot guy before the qb decision. Hightower/Pope/Wigs should really consider their futures, after committing early and never wavering on it. And this is how the staff repays them. Don't hate when they hit the portal either. Ppl want to bash the sfl kids for going elsewhere but don't utilize the ones that stayed true to you. Get the play makers on the field and let them show out.

Tate wasn’t on the team last year and how did Wiggins and Pope do?

but playing over guys like Hightower, pope, Payton, Wiggins this early on?

What has Pope done? What has Wiggins done except drop passes? Payton has as much as experience as Tate. Hightower is the only guy with a legitimate gripe IMO.

Remember, one of the reasons Manny brought in Osborn is because our WR room was too immature. Tate’s rise does not surprise me.

A lot of the young guys are unproven and we knew that going into the season, but so is a former qb who just moved to the position regardless of his athletic gifts. Those guys can’t get experience if you don’t play them(4 snaps for Hightower and 2 snaps for pope). I’ll take the chances on guys who have played the position longer than a recently converted guy.

It’s surprising to the fact, just not even one week after switching to receiver he’s receiving that many more snaps over receivers who have done it all their lives. That’s pretty inexcusable, I’m more than fine with tate playing receiver but just not more than the guys immediately behind the starters THIS early on. Got to use those guys right and give them a chance in the game too

Ok, so you're one of the Tate slurpers whose gain some fresh sign of life after the qb diaster. Don't worry recruits talk with current players and they see the bs from your staff. Lets see how wr recruiting goes the next few years. Osborne and possibly JT gone after this season, what, are you going into the portal again, and again for something proven.

Its the coaches job to develop the talent and put it on display so it can grow and shine.

Something is not smelling right at the U

Looks like our staff is putting an absolute premium on practice habits and knowing exactly what to do on the field. That’s what I’m getting from Tate’s quick rise up the depth chart. Maybe they don’t trust the other guys to not bust assignments.

Whatever it is, it needs to be fixed and those guys need to be given the chance to play in games or you will inevitable lose them. You know how kids get these days. At the least Pope ,Hightower, Payton have a legitimate gripe of why they aren’t playing much.

I am firmly in the camp that the coaches play who they feel gives them the best chance to win. Their paychecks and therefore their lives depend on it.

That being said, how awful and/or clueless do Pope, Hightower, and Wiggins need to be to be beaten out by a 5'10 kid who has been a WR for 45 minutes? That's pretty alarming if the coaches think Tate as the Z receiver gives us a better chance to win than those 3 kids.
