Podcast Q and A

When Mario first got hired he praised TVD as the best QB in the country and said we've got to tailor our offense around him.

Now Tyler's draft stock has plummeted, the offense can't score, and Tyler looks terrible enough to bench and warrant an open QB competition.

What is the single biggest reason for the disparity from what Mario recognized with Manny's team and what we all see now?

Mopey Von Moperheimstein aside, this MTSU L feels much worse than La Tech, Duke and even FIU.

On paper in many ways it is much worse...

Miami vs La Tech(+6.5)
Result: 0 - 14 (20.5 pt Miami under performing differential)

Miami vs FIU(+20)
Result: 24 - 30 (26 pt Miami under performing differential)

Miami vs MTSU(+25.5)
Result: 31 - 45 (39.5 pt Miami under performing differential)

By most objective measures, this is Miami's "worst" loss since Schnelly era began. The OB UVA, HRS Clemson, and HRS K State beatings also were bad, but at least they were "proper" P5 teams.

Got sick as a dog after getting soaked leaving the game.
For future reference, download a weather app (I use wunderground), zoom in radar and see where the rain is going and look how long it will last.. Waited 15 minutes and it cleared up, it was passing shower..

After seeing how bad this team CAN be, what is your realistic prediction for the record after the remaining 8 games.

Does Mario genuinely see issues with his & gattis offensive philosophy.. or is he putting blame on players just not executing the plays?

Is he to stubborn to realize this offense doesn’t get you very far in todays college football?

Has anyone let him know personally this offense isn’t good, and not just because of the players?

What is the number that is one more than one-tenth of one-fifth of one-half of 4,000? This one is EASY

Also, maybe it’s time we talk about injuries, depth and how long we can practice like Alabama, without having three strings of five stars. What would the season look like had Don stayed healthy?

What is your honest assessment so far? And do you hold reservations about the future?

D, why is TVD's accuracy so off? I understand a new offense can present challenges. Typically, we see QBs struggle with progressions, play a little slow, take sacks, look indecisive . . . but rarely do you see previously accurate passers missing WRs so bad, particularly on instances where he had a clean pocket and time to throw.

He looks like he is in his head right now. Disappointed to see him struggle.

Heard some talk on this topic on a podcast last night…. It was referred to as guys “having an empty tank” by the time the game rolled around Saturday. Did t take much adversity before they packed it in…
