The DE breakdown has me worried not only about this season but next season as well. Sheesh! Looks like we will be hitting the portal again for DE help after this season. Very disappointed that the light hasnt come on for Harvey yet. Good news is that our DT depth and talent will be so good this year it will only help whatever we lack at DE.

Ford and Miller starting at DT so far has me very excited for some reason even if its just for Bama. Love Nesta but I just think we need the big hosses for this game. Nesta has plenty of time to get his job back.

Glad the 5* guys are playing like 5*s so far. (LT, JW, Arroyo)

Tbh I expected to be where we are at DE right now considering we lost 3 nfl players in one year, but we may be better off being strong against the run with reduced sack numbers vs what we saw last year.
 
Let’s hope guys like K. Smith, Flagg, Troutman, Brooks, TAC, Johnson, and Huff can take that next step and UM starts recruiting the LB position better. With that we can start working towards the future at that position. For DE it’s make a break it this year for recruiting, Manny and the crew are gonna have to lend some studs this year. We cannot afford to settle for an average high school recruit or portal player, same could be said for the LB position.

I definitely think that starting DL will be extremely stout against the run this year.
 
Glad to hear the young WR's are making strides. How is Rambo doing? Did not hear his name mentioned.

Kinda tough to be bleak when you have a legit Top 10 secondary in the country and a much better than average 4 man rotation at tackle.

But yes, as we've talked about 8 billion times, the edge probably takes a step back this year and have you heard we're probably not that good at linebacker?

The defense should be fine. Better than last year. Not saying much, but it'll be better overall because of who's calling it, Smiff at the Will, and the addition of an Alpha CB1. Pair that with an even better offense, and 2 outstanding specialists, no reason why 10 games isn't possible.
