Is “terrible” required in the definition???
Not necessarily. It can go both ways. However I think “gunslinger” is too often used as a positive descriptive. Yeah it’s great when Pat Mahomes whips an impossible pass between three defenders but when 99% of the quarterbacks in the world try that, it’s an easy interception. Forcing passes is a bad move almost every time.

I wish I could give you the answer. Anything I could say on what I heard is gonna come from a source with an obvious bias
Zero idea what the truth is to this but I always had a hunch that more players were team Jake because Jake fit in with his teammates better, speaking in terms of culture. Could be totally off base but from the outside looking in, that's how it always seemed.

It played a part for sure. TVD isn’t exactly outgoing and Jake is the life of any party

I was never a Keyshawn Smith mega fan but I loved Mello coming out of HS. For the life of me I can’t understand why he disappeared. If it was because he picked the Jake bus that’s unfortunate. Felt like Brashard and George were completely out of sync as well, even though B Smith ended up our leading WR with only 300 and change yards.

At the end of the day I blame Gattass the most. But that WR room had a lot more talent than it showed and that’s on the players too. What a cluster last season was.

Mello was his own worst enemy. That and he’s hasn’t been strong enough to contribute. Won’t be as much as a issue in the league he’s in now and he’ll flash but I think he’ll be a player
