Mario many very well create a dynasty in Coral Gables, but you probably have to redefine the term. There will never be another run like Nick Saban had at Alabama.
Could Mario have a run like Dabo at Clemson? I think Clemson won seven consecutive ACC championships and two national championships during that period. I think that can be done in the ACC. Seven in a row might be a stretch but finishing first or second in a seven year span is achievable in the ACC.
Could Mario have a run like Kirby at Georgia? Georgia won consecutive national championships, which was rare even before the NIL era. I’m not sure Saban won consecutive titles, but he probably did. I think that can be done maybe not but maybe not the consecutive titles. I definitely think a string of ACC titles and CFP appearances can be done.
Could Mario have a run like Meyer/Day have had at Ohio State? The two coaches split a pair of national championships about six years apart I think and a string of Big 10 titles. Day also lost a national title game to Alabama.
I think Mario could be starting a run of five or six consecutive years of CFP quarterfinals or better finishes. He would have to win two national titles during that time. A team that makes the CFP semifinals four times in six years with two championships qualifies as a dynasty in my opinion.
Much of this depends on remaining in the ACC. This will be much more difficult and likely improbable should Miami join the SEC or Big Ten conference.
Mario also needs to continue excellent quarterback recruiting through the portal or from high school. A team struggling at the quarterback position has a little chance of making the CFP let alone advancing.
