Keeping the trend of posts to pass the time until football is back.

Looking for plays that would have lived in infamy had the Canes gone on to lose the game.

Freddie Capshaw's 3 yard punt in the final two minutes against FSU in 2002. Instead of pinning the Noles back, they end up at midfield with plenty of time to setup what should have been the game winning FG, but we all know how that turned out.
 
2002, Larry Coker for allowing a RB-QB pass on the VT 2-yard after blocking a Hokies punt. Canes were up 49-21. Jarrett Payton’s pass to Dorsey was easily read by the VT safety, who scored on a 100-yard pick six. The Hokes grabbed all the momentum but the Canes held on to win 56-45.

Willis had scored 6 TDs and easily would have scored another. IIRC the terrible call was on 2nd down.

WORST PLAY CALL IN MIAMI HISTORY.

There was a game in 2002 vs rutgers. Wasn't on TV where I was at but I watched on ESPN gamecast...they were up and then I saw they had a pick 6 and was up like 2 scores and if I remember correctly it was the 4th quarter. I don't know what happened but they reversed that pick 6,and then we went on a run and blew them out. The final score wasnt close but I remember feeling sick watching the game cast.

Similar to watching X against Syracuse

Like anyone but him

I don’t think “infamy” is the word I would use but to miss out on so much of that incredible run last year because of a mistake by a kid that literally carried us as a 17 year old would have been devastating

Another candidate. Cam Ward’s mind-boggling lob back over the middle against Cal to start the 3rd quarter in 24. Ends up being a pick 6 and we’re down 28-10. Literally the worst decision and throw I’ve ever seen a QB make. Apparently, it was just for dramatic effect because Ward decides to put a cape on and engineers a miraculous comeback to steal the game.
 
2015 Duke game with the crazy lateral ending… the Duke TD before that their receiver did not break the plane. I feel it would’ve been discussed a lot more if we didn’t have that miracle ending
