Players snap count vs Notre Dame

CJ Daniels: 58 snaps
Keelan Marion: 55 snaps

These boys were not only getting open and making nasty snags they were making downfield blocks like I have never seen at Miami

They are experienced transfers so expected but I believe they outperformed everyone's expectations week one. Edit:did not mean to include Toney

Marion played a ton of snaps, but perhaps the best way to use him is to stay under the radar - let the defense adjust/fall asleep, and then he burns them for a 50+ deep shot. Saw that play out where Baby Jesus started to garner a ton of attention in the 2nd half, and Marion was *going to* hit on that bomb late in the 4th if not for the DPI.

Brantley is dealing with a credits issue from Michigan State. Nothing serious and we'll see him very soon.

OK. That was my first takeaway seeing this. I don't think we're going to play 5 corners plus Scott a billion plays a game, but seeing him not get a single snap and I didn't hear anything about him not being dressed was surprising.

9 snaps from JoJo, so this was just an ankle then and he will ramp up more going forward?

Yes. 55 to 9 is not going to hold all season in terms of Marion's snaps versus Jojo's. Although Marion played well, nothing against him. But Jojo, when fully healthy and acclimated, will play much more than 9 snaps.

I don't see Daniels or Toney's snaps going down. IMO those 2 will lead the receivers in snaps for the season. But Jojo and Marion will be much closer than what it was Sunday night.

Yea jojo should over take those reps soon and we need more young guy snaps at linebacker over chase and toure

Over Toure? I thought he was awesome except for the coverage bust, which admittedly was a huge play. But that dude isn't coming off the field much the rest of the year, he was outstanding in the run game. Extremely active and violent.

He was in street clothes - probably easing him back.

Blount’s DT/DE snap split is interesting.
Blount is a future DT, just still in a DE body. I really like seeing him play both positions, can’t wait to see him make a few plays and start playing with more confidence.

CJ was out there completely cooking Leonard Moore, but the separation is backed into Dawson’s scheme, that why I wasn’t worried about WR at all. Guys will always be open in this system, as long as Miami has an accurate QB receiver will always eat in this system.

That’s a nice rotation. Especially with Moore coming in as a taller target 💯

I absolutely love these conversations about depth and rotations rather than our proverbial, ‘Dear God, please don’t let Player X go down because if so we are screwed.’

Really refreshing and great position for our program to be in.
