Saving him for A&M. Secret weapon. Double secretI didn't see Ragone out there this weekend. Anyone else confirm?
Strong answer. Fair.He has to play next to a freak on early downs. Unfortunate but true. Chase smith would make him look a lot better simply based off of how linebackers player TOGETHER. He’s a good run blitzer and he’s good at recognition you just can’t have him out there with another guy who won’t read keys too
In coach Steele’s defense it’s not really about the Mike anyway. The Will is going to make the majority of the plays or at least should. So Wesley, chase, those guys are gonna be stars here. A good Mike is a cherry on topStrong answer. Fair.
He had 4 tackles from the MLB spot.... 4.... I don't care what grade some service gave him.. that's no bueno anyway you slice it...Gametape didn’t show that. Bethune targeted him specifically the first series, particularly in the pass game.
maybe second half. I haven’t gotten through the entire game yet
He has no family members that post here. Like none at all. He’s not even from my side of town, bozo lolYour front running post is equal to Flagg’s play at MLB and that same Coach can’t wait until Wes learns that play book so he can bench the fake number 11 and all he’s family members that post here
What do you think is the missing link here in getting the right mix of Mike as the field general and the Will as the player maker…In coach Steele’s defense it’s not really about the Mike anyway. They’re both young.. but Wes and chase is the answer. At both spots. CJ is a good stop gap but he doesn’t really move a needle. He’ll get his stats but he’s a freelancer. What’s the missing link here in getting the right mix of Mike as the field general and the Will as the player maker…
You aren't wrong I'm just choosing to not be disappointed. If the snap counts shift this week the gloves are off.

It doesn’t have to remain his MO. It’s who he has been though. Good coaching can helpDisappointed that’s Johnson’s MO. I was hoping for much more from him. But I fear you’re correct.
I think I would rather see
Sam - Chase Smith
Mike - Caleb Johnson
Will - Wesley Bissainthe
This group is so much more athletic and dynamic than Flagg, Steed and Keontra
Seems he’s a good teammate. Always see him fired up and giving teammates encouragement and flying down on specials. That’s fine. I guess a special teams guy who stays outta trouble ain’t badI had high hopes for Keontra. But I didn’t see even the flashes we saw from him last season. Still can’t believe he was an eval miss.
… I also can’t believe Huff has never put it together to even threaten the two deep. He looks complete physically. Just doesn’t move the way we expected he would.
Yea didn't wes commit cause he secretly knew mario was coming? But wasn't that only a few days before Mario became official?
and i wasn't taking a shot at you either.
i was just making the point about grading tape. yes, of course, everyone can share their opinion.
but having been there, i will say: it's difficult to be sure of grading unless you absolutely understand the call and the assignment/technique associated with it. you can get a general idea of how a player is doing, but that has limitations unless you're sitting there in the film room, with the player, the coach, and the GA with his copy of the call sheet. which is why i look at sources like PFF with a rather jaded eye. they are good at what they do, but cannot possibly know as much as they pretend to know. if the coach is grading a lot higher than what your (or my) eyes are seeing, that should give a lot of pause, and tell us that what we're seeing might not be what is actually happening.
example from last year: canes were running a smash route to the closed hash. the no. 2 mistakenly chokes off his route, instead of opening to the corner, (and TVD makes the throw and completes it anyways). i thought: "great throw and adjustment on the fly by TVD, but the WR messed up." bad play on the no. 2's part. that's a "minus" on the grading sheet. what i found out a couple of weeks later is that the WR was actually coached to choke off the route when he sees a certain look in that situation. (it was not what i thought was sound, but that's not important). the point is, my knowledge of what i think should have been done, and what i was coached, was not what the play call required. so, from that sense, i was wrong, and the player and coach were right.
can i tell if something is really banged up and unsound? sure. like d'onofrio's goal line defense, or manny's inside run fits, as examples. but scouting is not the same as grading, and there's a lot you have to deduce if you're going to be relying just on tape.
the lesson i suppose, is that from the outside looking in, you can only trust what you see up to a point.
anyway, that's just my opinion but is suspect others like @Liberty City El and @Coach Macho might agree.
I enjoy how defensive some people get. Does pff have the call sheets as well? Do you? If not why should I care about your opinion or pff’s? This is a forum to express opinions no? I’m not taking personal shots, I’m simply giving my opinion on what I saw on tape.
I go by my eyes. I see a crossing route in front of him and him not riding that crosser into the next zone and then being late to chase for an easy first down. I don’t care what the call sheet was for that. The first series they went at his zone or his side multiple times. He was late and/or didn’t have speed to limit those gains.
