Playcalling is fine

Do we run any other plays out of empty, or just QB draw?

Any other run plays besides inside/outside zone?

We have a high school playbook.
Anybody who thinks our offense is perfectly fine can't possibly watch other (good) college football teams.

If we go empty it’s qb draw , if we go I it’s normally a dive to gray. Pretty **** predictable.

This isn’t 1978 “ we’re the titans, it’s like novocaine” bs.

Lining up and out talenting mofos is over , scheme matters just as much.

Btw, if you can’t counter me with x’s and o’s, please stfu. “ The playcalling is fine “ crowd are just cult members blindly shaking their head yes, drinking kool aid.
I’m actually judging by what I see on the field.

You find a way to get a guy with his explosivness the ball.

You can only do so much. We have to find a way to get Dallas his touches. And JT and Harley. Of course everybody wants to see Lingawwwd get some carries. And don’t forget Homer.

I don’t disagree about Harley’s ability, but there will always be somebody left out.

Yea...Richt's a below avg playcaller currently. If you think other wise, you really dont know football.

Keep in mind ...as garbage as Taggert is...he had 2-3 play calls that he essentially set up pretty well on us. We just sort of out athlete Fsu to win that game yesterday. Nothing involved coaching. At one point i honestly thought he packed it in...which i think he did. The 3 run sequence.

He went from one of the worst playcallers in the nation, to, IMO...average, just because he finally started running the ******* football.

The results have been positive.

Talk to anyone that has watched our all-22 game tape(which is the only way to really gauge this, IMO) and they'll tell you that it's way too reliant on all-go/verticals and there isn't a lot of route combinations or 'beaters'(as they call them) to combat certain coverages.

And I'll say it again, we lack real tempo in our no-huddle offense

Former players complain about the vanilla , predictable offense. If you knew an x from an o you’d complain too. Instead of running around down voting like a blind cult member,

Nobody wants your god fired , they’re just sick of watching a late 90’s/2000’s offense.

While other colleges are running updated schemes, scoring more points with less talent.

Out talenting people is over, scheming matters more now than ever. I mean Alabama is even running a lot of the smoke in mirrors, and scheming to go with the talent.

If you can’t counter former players or people that know what they’re watching then just shut up. You sound silly.

It’s year three dude and the offense is still the same ole crap, alternating games , halves and quarters with good/awful play.

this system is Blockbuster Video in a Netflix world, as I like to say

"Playcalling is fine" .....LMFAO

These types of posts remind me of the days when the superfans all kept repeating Coker's overall record as a defense for why he shouldn't be fired, or how the *** kissing pussified regiment of our fanbase kept trying to remind all of us that "banners were stupid" towards the end of Golden's tenure.

We need a dedicated OC about as badly as we need a new special teams coach. The constant shuffling on the O-line is mind boggling as well. It's time for Richt to have a come to Jesus moment, from a football perspective.

That's a REALLY bad FSU team we almost found a way to lose to.

Yes.

I don’t think some of these guys really understand how outdated a lot the stuff we do is.

Just using eye candy/ smoke in mirrors would open holes in the running game. Also cause busts in coverage in the pass game. You give the defense more to prepare for while keeping things simple for the kids.

The homer jet sweet action against lsu is the perfect example, that split second of confusion had lanes everywhere. Rosier ran it it in, but he could’ve given it to homer and he’d scored.

That little eye candy caused the LSU defense to freeze and think. Which gave the ol/offense the advantage.

That’s Clemson’s entire gimmick, and tvsgs also why they have wr’s/ backs running open all game. Constant mental pressure on the opponent all game.

Based on Miami's personnel outside and TE talent, am I nuts for thinking the Dennis Erickson system would be ideal?

I actually had a friend say this other day, he was like “ dude is it just me or would Erickson’s scheme kill with our roster”?

Cribby, I get it, once Richt gets the Oline he envisions(and knock on wood for that happening) yeah, they'll consistently be able to get favorable down and distances and create play-action opportunities consistently. But OK, does every prolific college offense have the Dallas Cowboys Oline of the 90's?

But right now, everything is basically 'all four verticals, just go beat your guy.'

This is some of the most simplistic - but worse, predictable - stuff you'll ever see. It's why this offense lags for large segments of the game.

And I'll say it again, why go no-huddle if your gonna be so slow in terms of tempo? It kinda defeats the purpose

And while I wasn't a huge fan of Dennis, he did evolve that spread to incorporate stuff like shotgun, read-option, etc, in his other stops post-UM. Ive been told by people who were involved in the program through several of our great coaches, that while Erickson was the most fractured guy that UM had as a coach(yeah, he had issues, lol) that in terms of offensive game planning he was top notch

53-9!!!!

I love that Richt is the head coach and think he's the perfect guy to lead this program currently.

But I also think his playcalling is trash and he needs to give the reigns to a real offensive coordinator. He has easily identifiable tendencies, he runs 2-3 plays FAR TOO OFTEN, and overall the scheme is just plain vanilla.

When there isn't a decided talent advantage for the Canes, his playcalling is exposed. He needs an OC to run that side of the football.

Omg....I’m glad you mentioned that. When we go tempo it’s not tempo,it’s a muddle huddle. Everyone just stands there looking to the sideline , while kinda being in a formation lol. It’s silly.

The whole point of tempo is to go fast, wear defenses out , make getting plays in and substitutions difficult for the d. Ours literally does none of that.

I’m not even saying bring in a new oc, bring in some young up and comer with new, updated ideas on offense. I mean they could be the qb coach ,oh wait..... his son has that , with his zero experience. Which infuriates me even more when I watch this offense.

You give everyone cool titles , bring your kid in and none of them have any real experience calling plays.

So it’s way more than nepotism. I just don’t understand how some can defend Richt just with that alone.

There’s literally nobody in the offensive staffs room that can check him or bring anything new to the table. It’s all Richt and his techno bowl playbook.

One of the way, in my view, you nuetralize a great Dline or a stud like Burns(who was really good yesterday vs FSU) is to go quick tempo, get plays off, have plays with easy completions that can move the chains, and over time, those guys will get fatigued at some point.(Now, I realize the offense if it cant get first downs, will put the defense out on the field a lot, too) but you can hide a less-than-stellar Oline by helping them out in this regard.

IMO, it sure beats running into the line twice and then creating 3rd and long consistently and letting guys like Burns just pin their ears back
