I was saying the same thing. In the pros that decision he made is a no brainer. Idk what the announcers were talking about. Especially after the penalty and BS sequence. U take the points with 3 TOS and the way your D played in the 4th so far

Jose B is 99.9% guaranteed to get those 3 points. Then it’s a one-possession game for a winning TD. Come up empty on 4th-goal and you need a possession just to tie, assuming you can stop a team you haven’t stopped most of the night.

Well, the announcers were complete and abject morons throughout the course of the entire game, so if you didn't know what they were talking about, it just means they were talking.

A FG does nothing for you in that situation. If you're trailing by 7, you need a TD. If you kick a FG, you're still left needing a TD. There's also no guarantee you'll get that close again. Just because we ended up winning doesn't make the FG the correct decision.

Keep in mind we kept momentum and passed it to the defense who after the field goal did there thing and the rest is history. Is it an ideal situation to kick the field no but it made alot more sense knowing our defense could hold them and also seeing there defense was zapped so moving the ball wouldn't be an issue

Manny believed in the defense because that 4th quarter locked nothing like quarters 1-3 and their defense was zapped we was moving on them at ease

Agreed OP. Took balls as well. Easy call would have been to just go for it and if you don’t get it, shrug and say well we tried. But instead he took the 3, had faith in his D and O that they’d get a stop and turn that into 7 and it paid off.

Going for it and failing would have zapped all the momentum from the team. Get the 3 and tell your D to get a stop and we will go win the game.

Fans saying that going for 3 does nothing for you, don’t make any sense. It was literally the difference in the game. I’d much rather be playing for the win, versus hoping to force OT, which the FG put us in position to do.
