Pinkel to Retire, Missouri Job Open

I wouldn't step foot on that campus if I'm Dino Babers. It's not "safe".

Half dead Pinkel >>>> Folden.

This dude can coach football. I've been a huge admirer of his for a long time. If Missouri doesn't make a great hire that program will disintegrate quickly without Pinkel.

Exactly. Have always been a Pinkel fan too. Their success was more a result of him than anything about that area or program that'll prop up a bad hire. VT actually would survive a poor hire faster than Mizzou. Anyone that says otherwise is just slurping the SEC delusion laced Kool Aid

The thing that has impressed me the most about Pinkel (and I am pretty much a Mizzou hater) is his ability to consistently recruit big time Dlinemen. He's always got some huge, fast pass rusher that just wrecks opposing OL. I don't know how he does it.

Missouri will end up with a **** good coach. You guys are nuts. It's one of the better gigs open right now.

where do you have it relative to USCe, vt, Maryland, USCw, and Miami?

Better than VT, Maryland and USCe. The Trojans are the best gig without a doubt. Miami is a hard one because the total lack of support through the admin. If that doesn't change much then I would guess Missouri can pitch a very good product against Miami. I think coaches find a school like Missouri really attractive considering the conference they are in and the success they have had the last ten years.

Bielema took a job made attractive by conference affiliation only. How's that working out? Just more Kool Aid drinkin. Ohhhh, the SEC. Even our junk jobs are GREAT!!!

Missouri is a **** job. Pinkel made it look good because he's a genius. They're in harm's way with him leaving unless they make a really great hire.

I'm not sure what Arkansas has to do with this. Pinkel has taken Missouri to a very high level. There will be plenty of good coaches interested in that gig just because of the SEC factor and how close Pinkel has been. He has been one victory away from the national title game 2-3 times in the last ten years. They now have a bank full of money and tons of support. You guys seem to live in the past a lot. Times have changed and schools like this have improved dramatically.
