My sources confirm Gary Pinkel will step down at end of season at Missouri. Plan was to announce Sunday, but timetable accelerated.

Anyone know how much he was making?

I'm trying to figure out how much they will be willing to spend on his replacement.

Missouri is a dumpster fire. I wouldn't be surprised if he is pulling an Urban to get out of there

Just saw that it's medical related. Lymphoma.

I think Pinkel was making just over $3 mil.

yeah......Missouri....there's a great coaching opportunity.

who wouldn't want to coach all those young Maoists ?

I wouldn't want to coach at Mizzou b/c it's Mizzou, but not sure what you mean by that?

think he's referring to the protests. pinkel had several of his own players refusing to play. don't know if that will be an issue moving forward though.

I thought maybe that was it, but the protests were more about race than politics, and Pinkel & staff stood with the players. So... still not sure what he meant?

Maybe that poster doesn't know what he's talking about.

He has cancer.

Wow. Wish him the best.
Definetly wishing him and his family the best.

As far as the mizzou job goes, it's still not attractive

They were paying about 3.2MM-3.4MM per year.

As a frame of reference:

That is 2.4 times what Justin Fuente makes (1.4MM).

That is 2.5 times what Tom Herman makes (1.35MM).

That is 5.5 times what Jeff Brohm makes (.613MM).

That is 8.2 times what Dino Babers makes (.413MM).

Don't burn brain cells trying to figure out people's politics on this board.

Mizzou isn't a bad job. You're in the easy side of the SEC and you don't have to win big to seem like a great coach. It'd be good to get your name out there

Not to get "too racial", but hiring Babers would certainly move the meter for them in a positive direction on race relations.

And how great would it be for Justin Fuente to reunite with his DC at Mizzou??
