PFF for refs

This was a typically-officiated ACC game. Far from the worst I’ve ever seen. We are never going to get holding called, because truthfully, it’s not really called that often in CFB anymore.

We also got away with some things that we could have gotten called for. They were letting the guys play. Sure, there were some bs things, but that happens in every game, and Noles could complain about a thing or two as well. The teams needs to worry about the things they can control, and the refs will never be one of those things.

I have long thought someone should do a YouTube channel where fans can send in clips of bad officiating and the blown calls could be rated on scale of 1-10, with a 1 being something ticky tacky and a 10 being Porters flag in the NC game. Refs would be identified by name so people know which of the zebras are crooked. Maybe getting called out will lead to change. I’d do it but I’m too lazy.
Those clips would do well on X. Each one is short and a couple of sentences description is enough.

Do it and I'll be your first follower.

See, that was a game that I would call one of the worst officiated I’d ever seen. Today was nowhere near that game. Or the old Ron Cherry games.
That Duke game was without a doubt the worst officiated game I’ve ever seen. We had 23 penalties for 194 yards compared to Duke’s 5. I believe there were 3 consecutive bullsh*t 3rd or 4th down passing interference calls on Duke’s final drive to take the lead. And then the following week we get to hear about how the refs bailed us out and the game should be under protest

I loathe the refs. Truly can't stand them. Each and every week they job us, and nothing happens. They can all hit the unemployment line, the whole entire lot.

I thought about starting a website that focused squarely on that for all (at the time P5) teams, years ago.
Any fan of any team could send in clips of egregious calls. Rank them by week and season and call out the worst crews.

Sunlight is the best disinfectant.

But I got burned out, old and lazy.

It seems like work. I'm sure it would get clicks.

Yeah, a great project for someone younger now, who has kept up with Technology and social media.

Every program has fans that think they are slighted by the zebras, so it would probably do well.

Add in a few missed intentional grounding calls
I agree with this.

They call holding on Miami about every game… seem to recall TDs coming off the board bc of holding calls.
We’ve only had ACC refs in two games this year so far, I believe. This one and ND. Each conference governs its own refs, and trains their owns refs, and thus each starts to trend differently in how they call games.

This is why y’all are missing the point. The ACC refs suck. The SEC refs suck (see the UF game). They all suck. Josh Pate has a great video on why refereeing has become a huge problem across the board and it’s not with any particular group or team or organization or conference. They need to make it standardized across the nation because every ref group calls things differently so now everyone feels like they’re getting cheated. I’ll try to find the vid and add it to this thread, I think it was from last year.

Either way, it’s weak to blame them for a game like this, where we were in control the whole time. Downvote me or whatever all you want, I don’t give a ****. But y’all know what Jimmy Johnson says.

Edit: Here’s the Pate vid…

Edit 2: Apparently he recently made a part 2, but I haven’t watched this yet…

I thought they were graded each week…but I guess they aren’t if some of these guys are still doing games.

The Blount "late hit" on the castellanos slide. There were so many holdings they never called. The LT false starting every play. Man it was sad to see the ACC couldn't get their golden child football team the dub. Nevermind it wasn't sad at all. **** the refs, **** FSU, and **** the ACC.
Tbh the one on Blount probably ****ed me off the most

It really just said clear as day we want to give FSU a chance here

A lot of the bad calls noted here were the most impactful.

But the one that had me screaming was early in the game I have not seen mentioned.

QB scrambles and heads down field. Poyser is positioned to take him down but is dragging a defender like a kid that has been in Disney World too long. That guy was hanging on for dear life. I have never seen such a blatant hold not get called.

I rarely yell at the TV but **** I was making noise for that one.

Here at the 20 second mark

They are graded each week but it's all internal and not shared publicly

The ratings determine post season assignments, higher ratings you go to playoffs.

If you are bad for long enough, you get "fired". The officials assignors are hired by the league and they can get fired if enough teams in the league aren't happy with performance
