Pete: Hearing anything on Billy Gibson

Hopefully this won't affect Mark Pope next year, we gotta keep a good relationship with the ridge.

we can't let that kid get away, straight beast.

You guys need to stop with this bytch *** stuff about next year at Southridge or next year at STA or next year at _______.

Gibson is the one who decided to play footsies with Oregon as a long-time UM commit. We told him we needed a commitment or that we had to find someone to take his place so we didn't wind up holding the bag in February. Gibson chose to keep sucking that Oregon dyck. So we had to move on. This is on Gibson. And Harley's facquitry is on Harley.

My man!!!

Chise stays bringing da lulz

Definitely!!!

He speaks the truth.

Go Canes!

The culture down here is ridiculous and laughable. Kid is committed for an entire year had zero offers solid offers besides us and decided to **** around with Oregon weeks before signing day.

This season proves that winning doesn't cure all. Once again it's a double edged sword- offer a kid early and they play you. Offer a kid late and we.didnt show enough love.

I said it before. The recruiting blue print needs to change. Family like the Gibsons are pathetic. Have some respect for the home team that's been on you since day 1. Zero respect from the locals and it all starts with these scumbag parents always looking for the better deal.

Add south ridge to the list of schools that we will have a hard time recruiting in the future. This hurts our chances with Pope

you have to remember that Gibson grew up watching Oregon dominate under Chip Kelly. no natty's but they won alot of games, blew people out, and had fresh unis. at the same time, Miami has been a **** show and always got humiliated when on tv in recent years.

You can't blame Gibson for wanting to play for Oregon over Miami....but I don't like how you can be committed for a year and just leave when a new program just swoops in with something new.
What in the actual ****.

People actually can justify anything if they believe hard enough. Mental gymnastics.

Golden recruited SoFla better his first year with sanctions pending and "bad SoFla relationships"

Start a separate thread and list both of their first classes, TIA.

Miami had the number 10 class in the country according to 247 sports after Golden's first full season. NCAA cloud was in full swing.

Unless we close with Thomas, McFarland, Smith and Slaton there is no way we get to No. 10 this year.

Golden's first full season class was a numbers game. I believe he had over 30 in that one. And a lot of those guys didn't even pan out/transferred/ got kicked off the team.

How many games did that class win? Talk to me in a few years about who had a better first full class. After all these years if mediocrity, I don't give a **** about recruiting rankings anymore. Results are all that matters.

I'm down with this but no excuses.

Prediction last minute has a freaking out moment moving to far away from Miami, wants back in, we say no and he ends up at USF

Wow that kids a stud I don't believe he has a chance to be here but if he costs there's a chance

sometimes I wanna get out of Pittsburgh stg

Cane.

Just warning you...This kid is as much a diva as any SoFla kid.

His tweet made that obvious. That tweet was right out of the S. FL diva playbook.

I'll take those divas. Once they step on the football field, they are mentally tougher than kids from anywhere in the country.

Nothing says "mental toughness" like a snowball fight on the sidelines of a bowl game, right?

Lol at bashing Gibson's talent - he can play. Bash his decision, not his film. Can Pete confirm we moved on b/c of his Oregon interest?

Also, Ariz > irvins. Irvins repeats petes **** verbatim after the fact but adds a change or two to make it look original. That said, Pete getting burned latety sucks cuz it likely means the staff is getting burned by their own optimism

How does a school make up ground recruiting a kid during a dead period? Would love an explanation.

By Gibson calling them.
A school can talk to recruits as long as the recruits call them.
Unfortunately it seems our phones are not exactly ringing off the hook.

Im happy with amari and derrick and i believe deejay dallas could be rayshawn jenkins 2.0

Funny you mention this. I have been trying to figure out which players on the roster, including commitments are best suited to FS. Deejay Dallas could be an excellent fit there. I believe he could the range to add to his ball skills, football IQ and instincts. Personally I believe he will be tried at CB and S. One more thing, Zbrod95 has been saying Deejay to FS from the very beginning. If Dallas ends up there Z deserves major props.

I'm the first person to tell you that stars matter, but this is some BS. How can you look at the way that class paned out and claim they should have been top10? We don't know yet if Richt's first class is better, but it sure looks that way.

Gibson is nothing special. We have enough safeties like him to be honest. Miami needs to find a game changing safety. I can't remember the last time we signed a big time safety, or had one become a game changer for us. Hopefully Jaquan can be that guy for us, but the mediocre safety recruiting has to end.

Nah. He saw JJ, Finley, Carter, Smith, and now Ford has interest. Kids talk. He saw the writing on the wall decided to flex. And that's not even considering 2018 DB class.

He made a business decision. He can either not play here, or be the man over there. He either lacks confidence or pride in himself. You don't let people run you out of your back yard. Jack didn't bat an eyelash with brad or Eason, and that's why I root for him. Cade too. Can't be scared to compete. He apparently ain't b[]_[]ilt for this here.

Southridge had a team full of good players, but IMHO, none really stood out like crazy. I personally think that's what this staff saw as recruiting got more serious and they didn't focus on the guys we were into early.
