Perry sees good attitude in Wednesday's practice, not worried about dwindling weapons

I see Perry maturing right in front of us every game. This team needs a leader and I hope he continues to show that leadership both on and off the field.

I just read JT4 tweet and it sounds like he came to a decision that he believes will benefit him both in the short term and in the long term. I may not trust Richt but I do trust Dugans and if Dugans could not get the kid to stay then so be it. We have talent in the WR room and we just need them to step up and be the playmakers (as a group) that Thomas was...My money is on Dallas and on Hightower/Wiggins/Pope/Harley to have good games vs Pitt.

GO CANES!!!

Could the thomas situation be a willis type deal. Could he take a year off fix his problems and come back for us his senior year?

Was suspended for LSU game,,didn't even make the trip..
You missed his point. He said Perry was suspended for the LSU game because he had expressed some dissatisfaction knowing he beat out Rosier in the Fall camp, but Richt was going with Rosier. Basically, implying Perry should have never been suspended and should have been the starter from day 1.

"dwindling weapons" ..... did John Madden or Pat Summerall ever use that term when they were on TV ? did Cosell ?

Despite the rumors swirling around WR Jeff Thomas that were later confirmed when UM dismissed Thomas from the team, starting QB N’Kosi Perry said after Wednesday’s drills that Miami had a great practice today.

“It’s been a great attitude from everybody, I feel like,” Perry said. “[There has been] good energy out here and I can tell a lot of guys are having fun again.”

With even more players (particularly freshmen) mulling over a transfer, Perry says he relays his own experiences as a freshman to them to get them to see the bigger picture.

“Last year, I didn’t play one down,” Perry said. “There are some freshmen that are playing and may not be happy, but you’re playing as a freshman, so you should be very proud.”

Besides Thomas’ absence, the Canes are down to zero healthy scholarship TE’s as a result of Brevin Jordan and Will Mallory’s injuries last week. To make up for the lack of bodies on the field at receiver, Perry said he and the other QB’s have been running routes in drills.

“It’s fun,” Perry said. “They know I have the best hands on the team.”

At the end of the day, Perry isn’t worried about his weapons that will be available to him on Saturday against Pitt.

“We have plenty of targets, I have plenty of targets to throw to,” Perry said. “We’ll be just fine.”

Last week, Perry said he was beginning to feel more comfortable operating the offense, and says that trajectory has continued to this week.

“It’s just natural. Every day of practice I get better, so every game is a lot easier,” Perry said.

Miami is heading into the final home game of 2018 and it will be Senior Day for all the Hurricane seniors. How important is it to get them a win?

“I feel like it’s very important to them because it’s the last time playing in Hard Rock Stadium,” Perry said. “So, we’ve got to come out with a W.”

"I, I, I"...Hope he can back this up on Saturday...

Next man up is when unrecognized stars are born. Lets see if we have one or more in the making, so far Cam seems to fit the bill. One or two at WR would be nice.

Glimmer was used in an earlier post, and yes, Perry provides a glimmer of hope in his statements to a team desperate for leadership by anyone, player or coach. If, or should I say IF Perry can display true leadership on the field, and command commitment from his team, he could be the bridge to bring unity and and belief that has been lost for too long.

Unity and belief combined with unselfish play, knowing it truly is us against the world will be the start to rebuilding the U. Richt then needs to look within himself and commit to changes, or have the self realization that he is not the man for this job. Either should be a minor, if not greater win.
