Perry sees good attitude in Wednesday's practice, not worried about dwindling weapons

Despite the rumors swirling around WR Jeff Thomas that were later confirmed when UM dismissed Thomas from the team, starting QB N’Kosi Perry said after Wednesday’s drills that Miami had a great practice today.

“It’s been a great attitude from everybody, I feel like,” Perry said. “[There has been] good energy out here and I can tell a lot of guys are having fun again.”

With even more players (particularly freshmen) mulling over a transfer, Perry says he relays his own experiences as a freshman to them to get them to see the bigger picture.

“Last year, I didn’t play one down,” Perry said. “There are some freshmen that are playing and may not be happy, but you’re playing as a freshman, so you should be very proud.”

Besides Thomas’ absence, the Canes are down to zero healthy scholarship TE’s as a result of Brevin Jordan and Will Mallory’s injuries last week. To make up for the lack of bodies on the field at receiver, Perry said he and the other QB’s have been running routes in drills.

“It’s fun,” Perry said. “They know I have the best hands on the team.”

At the end of the day, Perry isn’t worried about his weapons that will be available to him on Saturday against Pitt.

“We have plenty of targets, I have plenty of targets to throw to,” Perry said. “We’ll be just fine.”

Last week, Perry said he was beginning to feel more comfortable operating the offense, and says that trajectory has continued to this week.

“It’s just natural. Every day of practice I get better, so every game is a lot easier,” Perry said.

Miami is heading into the final home game of 2018 and it will be Senior Day for all the Hurricane seniors. How important is it to get them a win?

“I feel like it’s very important to them because it’s the last time playing in Hard Rock Stadium,” Perry said. “So, we’ve got to come out with a W.”

I like this.
One thing to be able to throw to them, it's a whole different thing if they catch it.

Y'all think Perry just matured!! Perry should have been Miami's starting QB from the LSU game whether he had no experience or not!! he flat out beat Rosier in fall camp!! His breaking team rules was expressing his displeasure in Richts decision to start Rosier!! Even the other guys felt he should have started as well!! But Richt does it his way or the highway!!

I questioned Richt early on before the season after some of the guys were saying Perry had the better arm and more accuracy!! But You can't say sh#^t to media or your *** get canned by Richt!!

Rosier wasn’t even top two in camp

Weldon was more accurate too

Williams just didn’t have playbook down yet

Kinda hate to point this out. Isn't Harley his favorite target? Harely.. who was Thomas backup & now starter. I guess that's a good thing though..?

Nothing but positive news coming out of Perry. Sounds like he is maturing and becoming a leader.

It also does not sound like a team that has quit.

What we had here is a team that was split at the seams because Richt played Rosier too long. That decision cost us 2 games. We need Richt to wake up and realize this is 2018. He needs an OC and he needs to quit acting so high and mighty. Just win man.

I give that young man some credit. Last week, he was pulling his team - pulling them!

And he's PULLING his team now.
