I have been following reading this board for a few years and I do not post often. Watching this at TCU/UGA fame made me realize how much CFB needs Miami. I believe that Mario can get us back to a state where we can not only hold our own but also upend the SEC (UGA & UA). I can appreciate TCU and the road it took for them to get to this game but they are outmatched and overpowered. The Canes are capable of turning the tables and I am hoping in the next couple of years can flip the script. CFB needs us more than ever and for the first time in 20 years I think we are going to be there shortly. Watching the same 3-4 teams is getting old and will be the death of CFB but hold tight Cane Fans. We will have the soles and strength to not only hold our own but compete at this level very soon. Watch us rise again and resume our place among the elites competing again on this level. We have the money behind us and the coach needed to ascend back to where we belong. Go Canes and let’s see what the near future has in store!

You are right but it has to start somewhere. This class can be that start. 2023 will be putting a product on the field that displays young talent producing and is inviting to another class in the Top 5. If we do that we can at the very least start finding ourselves in the mix. In my opinion, in 2024 our young guns can start putting us in the conversation. Long road ahead but let’s see what happens.

This game actually reminds me quite a bit of the 2001 championship game. Dorky QB leading a bunch of freaks to a massive halftime lead over an overmatched Big 12 team

Obvious disclaimer, this UGA team isn't anything like our 2001 team. Just an observation about the game

You believe Mario can get us there based on what exactly? His elite game day coaching? His amazing skills at hiring a staff? Facts are we have a recruiter. An elite one? Yes! However anytime we face a real opponent, were getting our *** kicked. The big dogs are elite in all aspects of the game. As elite as our recruiting is, Bama and UGA are going to still be ahead of us. Even if the talent level was even. Wario not going to out coach or have supporting staff to be able to compete with them. Love Mario for players hes bringing in, but his coaching and staff decisions have been complete dog**** and will continue to have us lose to inferior teams.

If it’s not Mario then we’re in serious trouble. It’s only year one so we have to wait and see. I’d rather an alternative with better results but that is not our reality. He has seen the process from Saban and has to be it. He has the money behind him, momentum from Ruiz along with other boosters, and we have a great AD. If it’s not him then the alternative is not something we want to see. That is why. I am hopeful it’s him.

Just don’t see the canes ever getting back to this type of stage. It’s way too big for them. We were fortunate to have the success we had. A couple conference championships would be nice though

I see Mario as a Richt clone. He'll get UM a few 10+ win seasons over a 15 year span, and the team will be rock solid for the next guy, who will be a stud coordinator (so a scheme guy like we've wanted) from a championship program, and we'll win multiple titles a few years later. So 2036 ish

That’s why the expanded playoff is needed in my opinion. Even if the same 3 teams are the ones seriously competing for it at the end, it will still make things more interesting.

I know we hate them, but imagine playoff matchups against Notre dame, USC, Texas, Penn state.

Disagree. He knows the blueprint. He just has to get the horses in here and he’s off to a good start.
