Per this podcast, Blake expected to stay

The problem for him is he's not opening with 2 or 3 beatable teas to create false hope. He's opening with the most talented team and coaching staff in the nation and a head coach who is ruthless and will be looking to make a statement to the south florida recruits.A humiliating loss to start the season will create a toxic environment in the team and in an already ****ed fan base.It will get very post FIU like and it's year 3 and a whole season still to play out.
This.

Could be even worse than the LSU loss to the start the year. We blew that easy statement game and the entire season fell apart coming off a nice season and bowl win.

Diaz was on staff that night and better look very long and hard in they mirror if he sets himself to get rammed though by Bama by 40 points if he thinks he won’t be on the hot seat or top recruits telling him to “F off”

Hard to believe that we watch the same pattern with stubbornness repeat and it fails and then the next guy does some form of the same thing and fails. I really hoped that Manny was smart enough to break this pattern.
I honestly think it’s because James hires them and they think that they must have done something right to get the Miami hc job. That along with our tolerance for mediocrity means they always have next year to improve

Not for nothing, but you have several factual errors.

The LSU game was not a “easy“ statement game. That was the same personnel that won a national championship.

We weren’t coming off of a bowl win.

Just sayin that it's a possibility. For the record, I don't believe Blake Baker will be our DC next year. I'm confident about that statement.
Which probably means Manny isn’t giving up his defense..might as well keep Baker

Did you see OSU RB Sermon try to jump the defender yesterday and go all balls in the face on said defender??? That’s what Saban will be doing to Manny next year

After Diaz gets run through by Bama...banners will start to be flown again. Wait for it. You are watching Al Golden come again. Except Al Golden was a better teacher, and put more players in the league. Just know that u are watching something u have seen before recently.

Why the f*ck would Perry leave? He might be starting against Bama if King doesn't come back from his injury fast enough. These fools don't know sh*t.
that's actually what they said. Perry comes back for spring. By May the staff should have a feel for how King's rehab is going. If it looks like he could be ready for Bama, they encourage Perry to look around. Maybe let him go into the portal to see what he can get and if it doesn't work out , he can come back as a back up. If King won't be ready for the beginning of the season, Perry stays, knowing King will eventually be back for the job. During the spring, Perry, TVD and Garcia compete for QB2

If this defensive staff is back next year, then it’s over for Manny. Won’t matter if we underwhelm next year and he cans Baker then. At that point it’ll be a year to late. It’s now or never for his coaching career.
This 100%. If he doesn't can Baker and replace him with a competent DC, in a year, they both lose their jobs.
