this is more about admissions and u can tell the staff is trying, they gott change something if they want to compete at a high level on the DL. Until; that we will field the defense with good dbs and ok DL which wont get it done if u want to be elite.

Looks like Al is going to have to scour the waiver wire for some 5th year guys looking to playout their careers elsewhere.

Defensive tackle recruiting has been a disaster from Day 1 with Golden.

2011

Jalen Grimble, a "5-star" kid no one else wanted should have been the writing on the wall. Major bust. He couldn't play. Darius Smith, Corey King, and Junior Alexis, three other gets from the '11 class, no one wanted and they couldn't play anyway.
Elkino Watson, 3-star local kid, wasn't offered until the end, maybe you could blame Randy, but a contributor as a penetrating DT for USF since Day 1. USF!
We also put in efforts for the likes of JUCO Maurice Couch and came away empty handed.

2012

Swing and miss on everybody. Aimed for Eddie Goldman and Nick James on the high end. Ended up with three mid-level prospects that haven't done anything. I hold out hope for Earl Moore as a junior-senior contributor but the other two were quickly sent elsewhere because they couldn't play.

2013

The worst yet. Swung and missed on EVERYBODY. Including numerous local prospects that were "all Miami" from Day 1. Keith Bryant, Jay-nard Bostwick, Quay Bain. Went in on high end JUCOs like Lavon Hooks, Ben Bradley and Toby Johnson. No dice. Had feelers out to some low end JUCOs that were once local, came up empty. Didn't even look at local players like Monty Nelson, who end up starting at North Carolina State and contributing good numbers.

2014...I guess we'll see.

Not even signing day yet. Who knows if any of these guys come here, and if they do, get in and if they can even play.

Uncle Jethro couldn't recruit Cousin Terio to play DT at Miami....seriously no Stuckey, no C. Johnson, no Pelon, who's next on the list???

Every guy you just named wanted to enroll early and they all needed more classes to do so. This has nothing to do with recruiting or scheme and everything to do with administration. JUCO kids simply can not get in with out taking extra classes.

agreed, and we we're actually the benefactor of this last year with Beau. I believe some of his credits weren't transferable to SEC schools

Well then we need to quit shooting ourselves in the foot and change that policy.

Dammit Donna.

Not trying to be negative, but same time last year we had Bostwick penciled in and most still felt we could maybe still land Keef, plus Jethro was like an uncle to Hooks........

He committed to USC which is a great school so how is this about admissions?
