Pelini out

They caught lightning in a bottle with Joe Burrow. Otherwise this program is a disaster. Consistent top three recruiting classes wasted every year.

they are the most underachieving program in all of college football, except for maybe Georgia.
Take away Burrow, and Coach O would be looking for a job......Burrow saved his ***.

RVA....methinks that Coach O flashed, and burned out...........
That’s a silly thought, especially if basing it on this year.

They started the year not knowing who could play because of NFL draft and opt outs…they’re probably the most dangerous team in the SEC right now (you could add Georgia to that list).

No, they caught lightning in bottle when Orgeron hired an OC that knew how to deploy their talented personnel, Burrow was very pedestrian the previous season. And I wouldn't call the job that Orgeron has done at LSU underachieving, quite the contrary, the guy has exceeded expectations.

Lol. If he doesn’t have skilled coordinators around him then he’s still good for recruiting... that’s it.
They’re a different team since the reigns have been handed to Mark Richt’s nephew.

QB play. The #1 ingredient in college football.

Right now…only Clemson could beat them in ACuCk.

This is exactly what I’m trying to say but you’ve said it far better. They’re serious about winning because they’ll throw money out there to buy coaches and/or make mistakes go away. They’re just not as good at it as some others.

We don’t have that kind of money to burn. Not even close. No chance Miami could burn money like LSU. It is one thing to justifiably criticize decision making, hiring, etc. it’s beyond unrealistic to hold up passed out drunk profligate spenders as beacons or examples. You should know that better than anyone. Miami is literally incapable of doing what LSU does monetarily.

It’s amazing that they beat UiF with a 53 man roster or whatever it was.

This isn’t right, otherwise Burrow would be a pedestrian pro and he was looking like one of the more promising rookies before his injury. Burrows growth … is something I’ve never seen before — anywhere. The only more miraculous QB development I can think of is Kurt Warner.

SEC west is hard and it won’t get easier. I expect Orgeron to keep pulling these “crazy Ivan’s“.

Of course. That’s not the argument here. All I said was that they’re serious about winning. Money is how they show it in their case. There are things we could have done to show that we are serious about winning having nothing to do with LSU type money.

We could have hired a qualified AD. We could have had a real coaching search. We could’ve never let Mork make Jorn the QB coRch. We could’ve said no way when he made Banda and Patke the DC’s right before retiring.

We don’t care like these other places do. We’ll never spend like them, and that’s fine - we’ll never win that way anyhow - but we can still be more competent in the things we control and we’re not.

Yes and no. But I just don’t want to go into it right now

They may be serious about buying players but they're not serious about hiring head coaches. No head coach in modern history has wasted more first round talent than Les Miles did at LSU. They should be Bama but they're really just a good, not great program. Since their 2011 title (the only two loss champion in my lifetime) they have averaged 9.7 wins a year. That includes 2019 when they won 15 games. Ed O will be gone after next season unless he pulls another miracle and somehow wins the SEC.

I really think they’re just dumb.

The SEC don’t “care” about football, they’re “religious“ about it. Even when you take out LSU, UF, AL, TN, GA, aTm, and Auburn you still have MS and MSST turning each other in for violations and getting a head coach fired. After Saban the most tenured coach in the SEC is Stoops … then Smart.
