In the 1970 movie "Patton" after the American army was badly defeated in the first battle they had in North Africa with the German army, General Patton replaced the American commanding general and in the scene when he first arrived at the HQ and saw the men there, George C. Scott who played Gen. Patton said something that the current state of the Miami football team reminded me of -----

Gen. Patton said. "I could see in the first five minutes what the problem is and why the Germans kicked our butts. These men don't look like soldiers and they don't act like soldiers, so how the **** can they be expected to fight like soldiers ? They have no discipline and that's going to change, I'm going to turn these 'boys' into razors" He enforced strict discipline and training and they won the next battle and every one after that.

Same principle. All the dancing and jiving on the sidelines (Bama and Clemson players don't do that) If Miami players don't act like champion football players, how can they be expected to play like champions ?

It's not the dancing that is the problem, it's the fact that 1) There's no accountability when people ***** up, and 2)This staff could ***** up a wet dream.

Jimmy's guys danced, they had fun, but they knew that if they stepped out of line, Jimmy was going to destroy their lives. You don't have to be a robot to play high level football, but you do need to be disciplined when it matters most. You can't be disciplined when no one is accountable. We learned that under Golden. He never held D'Onofrio accountable for being an awful DC, and he lost the team. Richt never held his son accountable, the team picked up on it. Same thing is happening here. Diaz, if he's going to survive has to can most of this staff and start over. Problem is that I doubt he would be able to hire people significantly better.

Dancing is not the problem. dancing is a symptom of the problem. You don't dance when you barely beat a scrub team like Central Michigan and you don't dance when you lose to a team that Duke smoked by 35 points ! end of story.

These players would soil themselves if they ever even met a man with the gravitas of Patton. Someone on the Canes sideline btw **** themselves today, not a starter but it was clearly a brown circle mid-**** on one of the camera shots of one of our dudes. That is your team now, a sideline ****ting group of spasmodic colons that use words like dawgs, savage, and grind before getting genitally pulverized by other men in different color jerseys.

If you're already engaged in a war then it seems a little late to be trying to fix soldier discipline and training.

Kind of like if you're already in the middle of a football season and blaming the same things instead of looking at the obvious ineptitude of the generals...errrr.....coaches.
