In group chat with gators. They are claiming Pat Surtain Sr. is going to UF as DB coach. If so, wonder the effects.

I thought NCAA adopted a rule recently prohibiting the hiring of relative or coach of recruit.

Pretty sure that’s for like assistant coaches like our own Joel Rodriguez or Coach Cooney, not actual coaches like Dugans/Rumph. If they want to sign Surrain as their DB coach, i think they can.

no.

if you hire a HC in a non on field role then you can't recruit any players at that school for 2 yrs. But if they hired Surtain as DB coach they could recruit whoever because thats one of the 10.

Can we finally expose the OP? It seems like he comes to these boards every few weeks with "insider Gator info". Just admit you are a UF fan and move on.

The result is...UF is going to receiver some terrible DB coaching.

2nd worst coaching clinic I've ever attended. Absolutely awful and uninformative.

"Coach Surtain. What do you like to do when offenses do this...?"

"Man."

"But coach, what if they do this..."

"Man."

"But coach, what if you don't have the guys to play man all the time?"

"Then you can't run the 3-4." :11263324214_66c20be

This is why great players don't always make great coaches. Just because he could man up with any WR in his prime doesn't mean the kids he coaches can do the same thing.

Easily Coach Stanford Samuels. Comical.

Shannon's clinic wasn't terrible, he just made you want to fall asleep.

His kids can, though. So he probably thinks it's the only way.

The gaytors really don't want to lose that American Heritage pipeline. It's about time we nipped that **** in the butt. You can't blame the dad if he takes the job. I thought I read somewhere that dad was staying away from his son's decision. Would this affect our chances with Tyson, Nesta, and Chatfield? That's all I really care about.
