This in my opinion is tge buggest reason we are not where we need to be. Look at this list of people that could be on our team if it wasnt for grades/discipline. I understand we can only give people so many chances but imagine our team this yr with some of these guys. Anderson and legget solidifying our dbacks and also allow corn to redshirt. Bond, terry, and kinnard all getting reps and linebacker/special teams. Jean louis and griffin would have been huge when waters, hurns and dorsett were all banged up. Glenn getting reps at DT since he was considered a great DT coming out. And lastly grooms would have filled in nicely without Duke. This list doesnt even include all the transfers/dropouts over the last few yrs like the davis', nelson, delmar taylor, briscoe, ivery, storm, etc etc etc. If we can hold onto our own committments through grade issues and transfers we'd be fine.

Every school can say the same thing... Transfers, non-qualifiers, and dismissals are all a part of reality concerning college sports... There's no utopia regarding college football... I'm sure Bama wished Nick Marshall would have remain a corner at UGA, but he transferred and converted to a qb...

We dont have the talent we need to be FSU or the coaching right now. Both can be much better even next year but we arent that far away from 10 wins and being consistent again just have to turn **** around

we've had around 30 kids not make it to campus or transfer after 1 year under Golden. That's way too many misses, not including the ones that are still on campus.

Well instead of taking the risks on some of these kids why not get a hard working three star type guy...even if he is a perennial special teamers, its better than not getting in altogether. Bond is still being heavily recruited, Griffin will be a freak if he ever goes somewhere, and than grooms, Jean louis, and legget are doing there thing at Marshall.

Oh, I agree. Was just putting in perspective, we've had an excessive amount of misses and now it is showing from a personnel standpoint. We don't have the quality depth that elite programs have right now. We have some guys no question about it. Hopefully, this class along with '15 will shore that up.

There's no easy answer. It's the HC's job to recruit/sign guys with enough character and ability to get into school, stay in school, and be good enough athletically to compete for NCs. Davis did that because he was masterful at recruiting the proper mix of character and physical ability. Cloudy isn't very good at it, which is a big reason why we suck so badly.

You say Grooms is doing his thing, and you're right. He's getting arrested regularly like he did while he lived in Miami. And all those guys are playing at stinky Marshall.

You're right about that, I think the ones with great potential are worth the chance but this year to me guys wont be as much of an issue to get in

"Cloudy" will never be Butch, ****, no one ever has or will recruit like that dude did. And its both, Donna's expectations with respect to these kids and Golden's lack of flexibility. But, seeing how all of Eddie's ****ups were coming while we were under the national spotlight and pending hefty sanctions, I understand them taking the safe, less desirable rout with him..

So which is it? We get the people attacking Golden and Shalala because we supposedly only recruit high-character kids and don't get the "goons" any more. Then we've got some people (amazingly some of the same ones complaining about the lack of goons) that also attack Golden for not being able to evaluate character based on the players that left or were kicked out.

As was Nate Harris that we recruited back then, before he ended up getting pinched for Armed Robbery.

And I guess everyone forgot when Adrian Wilson was kicked off the team for getting arrested choking out his GF, at a time when we were desperately short of DTs.

Sh8t happens to any coach. Sometimes you have to take a chance on a kid, and hope they dont f*ck you. Golden got slammed with real bad luck at LB with EJ, Terry and Paul all being f*ck ups. IMO the loss of those 3 guys, and Duke's injury, are what kept us from going 11-1 this year.

Eddie was a scumbag who didn't care about his team. How many games did he miss for being a fck up BEFORE they finally had to throw him out? There's probably a reason why a guy as talented as he is doesn't have a bunch of teams beating his door down right now. Didn't he get kicked off his JUCO team too? The guy's a piece of **** from a character standpoint and really nothing like Nate Webster. Nate was a villain on the field, but he managed to keep himself eligible unlike Eddie.

Did Eddie suddenly become a piece of **** when he got to UM blindsiding Cloudy with his assh0lishness? If he did, then we can excuse Cloudy. If he was always a piece of **** with bad character, which I suspect is true, then Cloudy fcked up bringing him here and wasting all that time with him, or he fcked up getting the message across to him to stay in line.

At the end of the day, you anti-Donna guys can keep trying to spread the blame around, but the football program is Cloudy's. It starts and stops with him. If he keeps missing on so many guys, then there's no way we'll overcome his **** corching. Then, we'll have guys telling us that Duke is more talented than we are.
