Papa Williams speaks out

Diaz dapping Pope after an egregious dropped ball was all I needed to know about this “culture.”

If anything, that could’ve been a coaching moment. I remember when Ladsen dropped that gimme against us, and Dabo stopped him right where he was & had some coaching words w/ him, then tapped him behind the head.

We don’t need some Bob Knight chit, but no way in the world should Pope been dapped up, and allowed to just keep on his merry way.

These r the things, symptoms if u will, that shows where we are. The lisp & slide on field wasn’t enough against a poor UVA team to celebrate a close victory. I pay attention to all that, and there was no doubt in my mind we would finish this season on a sour note. The 8-1 start was phony af. The coddling continues on, along w the gimmicks. I was grateful for the ride, but we should never be on a ride w this **** *** schedule. We hardly ever get tested year to year against good teams, but man when we do....

I couldn't have said it any better. The problem is it's not in Manny's DNA to coach his players hard. You have to lay down the law, coach these kids hard, hold everyone accountable, and sit them on the bench when they don't perform.

If you want more, you have to demand more. It can't be a suggestion.

As a Senior NCO in the military, they “try” to teach these new generation of leaders to praise in public and reprimand in private for these new generation of kids. I don’t agree with this mindset all the time. I’m more of the “where you f**k up at, is where you will get corrected at”. Now am I expecting manny to go belligerent on the sideline all the time? No! But if I’m the coach, I **** sure will not give you a butt smack and hand shake after you have been dropping passes all game and all season and it would have probably been some times . You have to know the player though, each one is different mentally and an a** chewing on national tv could hurt some of their fragile mental makeup.

im my mini rant yesterday I noticed players, starters, on the sideline laughing and giggling while down 21-0 mind you. There is another symptom on the issue you bring up. We literally had no juice until the offense got us to 19-21. Sad sad situation.
