"Ladarius Gunter, CB, Packers (6.8 PFF grade)
Green Bay had major turnover at the cornerback position this offseason, with Tramon Williams and Davon House leaving town and the team spending its first two draft picks on cornerbacks. Though both of those picks have graded well this preseason, they have been put to shame by the play of undrafted rookie Gunter, who has been on fire. Gunter has been thrown at 11 times, allowed just five catches for 48 yards. He has a pick and three passes defensed to his name, meaning when targeted he has given up a passer rating of just 20.3."

i swear Alonzo is just up there in Green Bay cheating...bringing in UM dbs as Undrafted Guys and having them in the two deep. Highsmith chilling on company pay...dont even have to work hard...just grab um guys that we dint develop...Though i always like The Gunt..willing hitter and plus size corner. Thjat 40 really killed him because he was a mid round guy to be honest.

Its amazing what happens when an actual coach with a brain gets a hold of a long athletic corner

A 6'1" 200 pound corner is balling by playing press coverage and beating up receivers.

Al Golden lined him up like he was returning punts every play. Lol 7 ******* losses.

this! golden cost kids money. with his size, why is he playing off 10 yards? he's going to cost howard and bush money too. golden has the talent...i've said it before, you give meyers or saban the same rosters golden has had and for sure, they would've won at least 11 games a year. it makes me happy, yet sad to see these ex canes do well in the nfl.

7 losses.

And Gunter didn't even fit into the sickening stat you posted in the other thread regarding top 3 round picks. He's just another guy Folden lost 7 games with who will probably start for a Super Bowl level team.

Gunter languished on a team that routinely gave up 350 yards passing to bums like Logan Thomas. Now, NFL QBs can't complete passes on him.

You don't think the technique he learned here helped him in Green Bay?
I agree completely that a 4.69 40 made him a free agent. He played well here in a complicated defense.

How much time do you think the Green Bay coaches gave to him when he came in undrafted as essentially camp fodder after drafting 2 corners with their first 2 picks?

Seems pretty obvious that Miami developed Gunter quite well.

I keep hearing boneheads telling me Folden develops players just because some guys who were on his team got drafted. They neglect the fact that most of those guys were drafted lower than they should have been if they were properly used/developed.

And then there are guys like Gunter, who were so misused, that they didn't get to showcase their talent at all here and went undrafted.

Agreed. If players ball out right out of college it means they were developed properly. Gunter was pretty decent here last year but would have benefited from better quarterback pressure. Crawford was the "me guy" that left the program....Wonder were he landed and how he's doing/will do?

He ran the 3rd slowest cb time this year in the 40. That's why he didn't get drafted. Before that he was considered a top 100 player and he did fine at Miami

I think the individual skill sets are developed pretty well. They just drop in the draft because Al is a pretty clueless gameday coach and his schemes/systems make the players look worse than they are. That's why so many of our players end up being steals.
