Ozigbo update

He is not a horrible back. Coaches should keep in his ear. Show the guy some love, because we know how our class can take a spill. If one of our guys we have now, dips. We maybe out of it for one of the other Florida backs at that time.

Wisconsin and Syracuse are putting the full court press on him. According scout.com Cuse would make him the priority RB they take for the 2015 class. But another site has reported Cuse already 2 RB commits for 2015 but he would be the biggest and best prospect.

And it sounds like there is Cuse Alum down in Dallas has been in his ear for a long time.

I am glad this young man is holding off on committing because the longer he waits the better the chance his UM offer will become committable if UM misses on its higher rated big back targets.

Go Canes

If he actually has a commitable offer from Wisconsin or Cuse he should jump on it.

There are some good plan B big backs in florida also such as 2015 RB SEKAI LINDSAY from Palm Bay HS , he is 5'11 205lbs with good vision and good speed ( not great or elite). The competition he plays is mid- tier central florida teams but they are still teams with Florida athletes.

He doesn't have a UM offer but took an unofficial visit to Miami this weekend per rivals article.

All that said I do like how Ozigbo runs with power and gets north n south quickly.

Go Canes

Sekai? Rhymes with Tekay, like Tekay Dorsey? Enough...send him up to Rutgers. I'll bet most of you don't remember Tekay Dorsey. Nothing bad...but another reach.

4-star California LB Khaylan Thomas has a top 5 of Miami, Arizona, Arizona st., UCLA, and Oregon st. He will visit over the summer and announce before senior season. What are our chances of landing him?

Offer him as a fb and sell him the offense

I can see him play the Quad Hill/Najeh Davenport roll.. Big and athletic. At this point we are not in a position to pick and choose. If it's a good player that can help in an area of need you take them.

Here yah go for those that remember that far back. But keep in mind Ozigbo is a totally different type of back not to mention he can play either FB or RB with no problem. Where as Dorsey was an issue from the word go.

What does this have to do with 2015 RB prospect Devine Ozigbo? Nothing really so then why not start a separate thread about Khaylan Thomas ( who I think stays on the west coast to attend AZ, ASU, or UCLA ; just an FYI)

With a projected class of around 22 or so for 2015 I don't think we have the luxury of taking this kid when there are higher priorities that have to be addressed

So how do you see the projected 22 spots being filled out.

I have no idea how the 22 will be filled out but do know for a fact they are only taking 2 RBs. Now unless this kid plans on moving to FB and they decide to take a spot for him that's new but I don't know if we are going to pursue a FB this class with Tucker going to be in that position for the next few years

We don't run that offense anymore, so who's to say we still have that role. In the spring game, our big back was not strictly a blocker. We might be getting away from that with Coley. You know, of course, that Davenport played fullback and mainly blocked either because he was no longer an exceptional runner after his knee injury or else we had no one else. Davenport came out of Central the year before McGahee as also one of the top tailbacks in the country. He never did that much running at UM. Maybe it was the knee, maybe he was not really that good, I don't know.

Everybody is so testy this morning. Maybe it's the spring pollen. Maybe Danny is just ****ed that I made a wise-*** comment about that guy whose name rhymes with Tekay. Since Tekay came to the U (and left), I have never seen anybody else with that name.

Tekay came in with that illustrious RB class of Steve McGuire, Tekay Dorsey, and Ellery Roberts, and the only one who was any good, was the one nobody ever heard of: McGuire. Dorsey went home to Rutgers and Ellery Roberts, a 5 star, went to Stanford.

I remember hearing within weeks of his arrival, they knew Roberts was a mistake. I remember speaking to Max Scamfinger early that fall, and I said UM needed RBs. He said, "You've got Ellery Roberts." I said, "he's a bust." This was before the season started! There was nothing but silence at the other end....he must have been dumbfingered, I mean dumbfounded. Nothing...nothing but crickets and his dog farting.

I don't know why he would get away from it because Coley saw how valuable a versatile fb was at FSU (Lonnie Pryor)...If he learned anything from Jimbo I hope that's one of them. Unfortunately, scholarships are at a premium..

We don't need. We have 4 RB commits, and we got Tucker. I don't even think we'll be using a fb too much, instead mostly singleback stuff or something to get two RB's on field at same time...

How often did Quad Hill or Davenport get the ball at FB? Hardly ever. Maybe Quad a bit more.
