In the past 4 years, Of all the misses we've had in recruiting, I can only think of Dalvin Cook as a true miss.

Everyone was mad about Scarlett, Dexter Williams, valentine, johnnie Dixon, Mathew Thomas, Kirkland, Alex Collins, Travis Rudolph, Ermon Lane, Amir Rasul, Keith Bryant, Reggie Northrup, JC Jackson, Kermit Whitfield etc. All these guys were Miami leans at one point or committed and we didn't get them.. we were upset they didn't sign but a lot of them turned out to JAGs..

Tavarus McFadden, Quincy Wilson, Brian Burns, Calvin Ridley, Antonio Calloway,....

This has to be a troll thread.

ffs Has everyone already forgotten the Gorlden Years?

Amari Cooper, Calvin Ridley, and Dalvin Cook alone would've probably been good enough to save Golden's job. Go do some mental gymnastics and make your own decision about the pros/cons with that.

Teddy Bridgewater, Giovanni Bernard, Khalil Mack (everyone missed on him)

Not trolling. Calvin Ridley too. But we never got a visit from McFadden or Burns or never looked liked the favorite for those guys either. Golden never wanted Quincy at CB so he wasn't coming. I'm talking about dudes who were "silent" commits or were committed and decommitted.. or people felt real good about them being canes.

Let's just go back further in time... nah, let's not. Those were Different coaches and these are different times.

Missing Collins was huge. Not that he was better than Cook, but having Collins a year behind Duke would have been like old days. Duke goes down in Tally with broken leg and a beast like Collins comes in and rips heart out of noles with fresh legs. How many times back then was the back up bigger and faster -- seemed like always. Same thing at almost every position(Did anyone really think the next guy up would rival Ed Frigging Reed? Or that in your lifetime TWO guys would stand even or above Bennie Blades?). In the good days, Cook would be in the next year waiting his chance. That is how good we were.

Kermit Whitfield help FSU beat Auburn for the ship. The point being that guys like Kermit may not be consistently good but he is fast as **** and helped them in the return game. After Travis Benjamin, we haven't had any significant threats in our return game. Depth, it's necessary.

Maybe, maybe not. I watched Golden lose 7 games with 2 first rounders, Duke Johnson and Clive Walford. Not to mention the best freshman QB we've had here in a long while in Kayaa who went on to break the school's passing yard record.
