Our Program has failed to adapt…

He looked special on that first series.

You know what MTSU did? They said woah, this kid can sling it and they backed up, dropping two safeties after that. They quit crowding the line and when it looked like they would, they backed off from the pre snap alignment. They mixed in a couple of blitzes, but they played to stop his passing. They didn't do that with TVD in.

That's coaching, glad one side was doing it, just wish it was us. They had the lead, they had that luxury as we had to play catchup with a clock winding down. Should've come in after the second INT.

I agree on the rest, but Garcia's hand was forced and throwing into the heart of their defense. Just like Gattis ran into it or had TVD sitting back waiting on slow developing routes with guys bearing down on him.

What a mess.
agreed. I dont think tvd plays here again tbh.

Miami has failed to adapt to the times. This isn’t the 80’s, 90’s, or the early 2000’s anymore. Nobody on this roster was alive or aware of Miami when we were dominating. Miami will never be back to what it was. The time for living in the past is over. The administration has let us down for 20 years, hiring re-treads, going the cheap route, and recycling assistants who had no business being in charge of a major program. Our stadium was imploded with zero plans for a future replacement. Our facilities were light years behind other powerhouse programs. While we were living off the mystique of the past, other programs were investing and adapting. It’s a different world nowadays. Anyone who has teenage kids, or works with them should know what I’m talking about. The mentality is different. Kids respond to criticism and discipline different. There is no dog in anyone anymore. All the greats from the past were a different breed and something we will rarely ever see again. Now, our facilities are catching up to the present. Our coaching is not. We need up and coming assistants who are innovators and know how to adapt not only to the game, but to the players as well. It’s time to let go of the past and digest the fact that it will never be like that again. It’s time to adapt and create a new mystique. Mario has to give up on this old school approach. It’s not gonna work anymore. Even the greatest coach’s have given in to their ways and adapted to the times. Nothing is ever going to change if Mario doesn’t first.
We have continued making the same nepotistic hire since butch with the exception of the Golden hire which clearly lacked any vision to the new era of college football. We now have twice made the hometown hire who has a Cuban link to a large portion of the local community. Mario being a guy who tried his best to turn a generational talent in Herbert into a mid round pick. Coker and Randy were lazy promotions who lacked any vision towards the future of Football, college or the NFL.

Why should he, I’d announce my transfer to SMU or any other school who has a similar scheme. He’s be a nice replacement for Hartman at Wake. After seeing how much my game has fallen off in the new scheme and what Mario did with a guy like Herbert I couldn’t leave fast enough if I was him.

I saw a dude who was a completely diff player w the chargers in game 2 (I think Taylor played in game 1 nd then got stabbed by the team doc). I was down on him as a pick when the fins went w tua. based on what I saw in the Oregon games I watched, he didnt look like the same player as he does in LA. now Im prolly wrong since you watch more pac 12 games, but in hindsight he looked like a much more elite talent than he did at Oregon
Lol; bro…yeah u’re definitely not recalling correct. Lol. Why do u think The Dolphins got murdered for taking Tua over him? Herbert was elite, elite at UO & had 2 yrs worth of film to justify a top 10 pick

nah the talk was tua was better as a prospect at least down here. Herbert had the tanny comparisons. then Herbert played in games and it was like god ****

How can a head coach be this stubborn? It is maddening.

Dude has fielded mostly mediocre to bad offenses as a HC. I said it two weeks ago after the Southern Miss game, and again after last week’s loss at aTm. Mario is killing his chance at being great because he’s to hard headed to accept that his offensive philosophy sucks.

I frankly see us losing a lot more games this year unless he and Gattis have an epiphany, which I am highly skeptical of.

How can this man profess to love the U, and not see that he’s killing team morale and what little is left of the fan base with this Stone Age scheme? Frustrating, to say the least.

I literally Have no idea what u’re talking about it. Lol

Why would Tua be a better prospect when Tua was dealing w/ a hip injury at the time of the draft? Lol. The only one ?ing Herbert was a loud talking head from ESPN named Dominique Foxworth. The overwhelming draft experts & analyst stated Herbert was the choice b/c of his production & availability, something Tua was not known for.

im saying in miami that was the talk bc we were debating drafting Herbert v tua. the real prize was trying to get joey B and we approached Cincy for a trade that they obviously turned down. also, **** fox worth lol

Stay strong, brother. Mario ran the spread at FIU, so there is hope, and the season is not all lost. We will get the trenches right, and if/when Gattis fails, we will return to the spread offense. We will have options at OC, too, if it comes to that.

I hope you’re right, brother. It’s just maddening to have had a chance to do something special with keeping our spread concepts from a year ago, to now seeing the **** show that is this offensive scheme.

The only thing offensive about it is having to watch it.

It looks like major discord among the coaches and players. Clark saying they should have been prepared better. Receivers getting ****ed at TVD and Resterpo excluding themselves. The fact that the whole team woke up when Garcia came in. Coaches need to be aware and observant of this discord and straighten it out and get it resolved. **** going on like this is how you lose to a lesser opponent. Something stinks.
I'm not shocked at all. Truth is whether they deserved it or not, everyone was publicly ****ting on the WR big time while playing two hand touch when discussing the other issues. Can't put so much emphasis on those guys like that while being virtually hands off with tvd (and Gattis) and not expect this to happen when we all see that tvd's play via Gattis' ****** offense hasn't been the best.

**** there's a narrative going around that the local high school studs don't even want to play in Gattis' POS offense yet all the current guys hear if they watch the pressers is that they are the problem. These kids talk to each other man. Bottom line is the buck stops with the head man who hired a guy that wants to run a sophisticated timing offense where the freaking TE's are the focus.

The irony is that Mario and the school adapted this past off season. What sunk Mario is his dogged attachment to an antiquated offense that is killing us.
And in 2025 when he finally realizes that perhaps a change is necessary, it will then be far too late.

The administration & Coaches were GIVEN the EXACT Blueprint to follow....and for 19yrs they've wiped their azzes with it...Time, after time, after time....
This is exactly the problem - STOP living in the past.

There’s a new blueprint out there. It’s time to move FORWARD

Really??...What Blueprint??....Lol...You DON'T change Blueprints....especially highly successful ones, or should I say, the most successful Blueprint in NCAA History....but by all means, keep believing in these regurgitated BS excuses...I will not.

The difference was simple. All the elite kids in Miami stayed home plus we were able to cherry pick from around the nation. We have to give Mario time to do just that. We knew he wasn't the best XOs guy but would hopefully recruit to a level that we could out talent opposition. Gotta give the man 3-4 years before you cut his head off.

You ain't getting 3-4 years in the age of portals and NIL... you ***** around for that long, you won't have anyone on your roster

Problem is, elite kids won’t be coming if you avg 6-7 wins for 3-4 years. He has to find a way to make chicken salad out of chicken ****.

How was he under utilized when he threw the ball more than he ever had? He avg. 31 & 33 attempts/game his last two yrs. I didn’t even include the extra 6 TDs he put up rushing the rock his last 2 yrs.

Exactly.

Some people just believe what they want to

I’m through, bruh. Like ppl r dumb, especially fanatics. They literally convince themselves of bull chit to justify their feelings. The chit doesn’t even make sense; he regressed, but became a top 10 pick? Lol. It doesn’t matter what stats you use, when ppl r in their feelings, all sound of mind is non-existent.
