Our poor Cam Ward

The only way can will ever be a franchise guy is if he goes the same darnold, baker mayfield route. Even geno smith got his chance.

Titans are terrible and they’re probably helping cam see ghosts. But his play is garbage and he’s still doing some nonsense. It’s over. They gotta trade him for some picks to help their next first round qb

I didn't say 7 franchise QB I said 7 QB who are generally considered QB's that can carry their team. There are more the 12 franchise QB's because not every franchise is dumb enough to think that because their QB isn't elite enough to carry a team that you have to dump them. Did you forget how Purdy was getting crucified 2 years ago and then missed half of last year but his team still made it to the second round of the playoff with Mac Jones. You know why because Purdy doesn't carry his team he plays for a QB whisper who seems to be able to put a competent team together that can win regardless who his QB is as long as all the other pieces are healthy. Hurts?? Really and I say this as a Philly fan. Happy with Jalen but he does not carry the Eagles and no one considers him that way. Same goes for Lawrence or are you going to ignore the 23 and 24 seasons where people were wondering if he had the yips because he was so erratic (and still is). Herbert has gotten 2 coaches fired already and people openly question if you can actually win any meaningful games with him at the helm. Goff is a system guy. Surround him with a ton of talent and you can win games with him but he doesn't carry his team. If your going to say Caleb you might as well say Nix they've basically accomplished the same thing so far in their career. For me however both need to have more then one season of success to say the carry their team (as we've seen with Stroud and to a lesser ex Daniels who can't stay healthy and even when he plays doesn't look like he did in 24).

So imo there are 7 guys who most consider carry their team. Now there's nothing wrong with not being one of those 7 and most good franchises know that. They aren't going to bail on a Hurts or Purdy or Goff because they aren't Mahomes, Allen, Lamar etc. Those guys can still be franchise QB and you build to their strengths and you can win alot of games and even SB with those guys at the helm.
 
Cam has been broken...didn't take long. He's not the same QB he was at Miami or even last year - that is what bad coaching/scheme, no supporting cast, and a cut-throat media can do to a bright young star. It's sad but it is what it is.

Best case scenario: he gets benched and has a chance to regroup before getting traded to another team.

Agreed but why stay the course. The offense has looked inept for 2 seasons outside of like 2 games. I love Cam but you watch these clips and he looks like he doesn’t give a **** doing the same stuff he did against like USF standing flat and making some lame throw. He isn’t set up for success so he’s going to have to hope someone trades for him in the offseason at a better situation.

I’m not saying I disagree with you. Just noting how rare that is. I think, I’m genuinely not sure how much that’s happened, but I’m guessing not very often.
 
He’s been bad but I have faith in him, just not in Tennessee. This could b the best thing for him.

And...this is precisely why what the "FoOTbAlL ExPeRtS" on this forum have to say needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

Despite the majority of their prognostications being incorrect, it never ceases to amaze me, how many individuals on this forum continue to hang on to every word of their misinformed analysis & treat it as if it's the gospel. Smh. Someone needs to let them know that regurgitating PFF data doesn't somehow prove an individual is knowledgeable about the game.

This forum is a concrete example of the pernicious effects of herd mentality & groupthink; they create a situation where the blind ends up leading the blind.
 
People had completely unrealistic expectations going into this, and now that those expectations haven't been met, they're jumping straight to “he's a bust” or “he isn't an NFL caliber QB.”

The Titans didn't have the No. 1 pick because they were a good football team. They didn't have the No. 4 pick for the same reason. Cam was throwing to guys last season who probably never should have been on an NFL field, but that's the situation he was dealt.

On top of that, he had to deal with a midseason coaching change and is now learning a new system under his second HC and OC. The surrounding talent hasn't exactly made a massive jump either.

And let's not forget the obvious, he's still learning how to play quarterback at the NFL level while being thrown into the fire, and he's doing it with a skeleton crew around him. There isn't much room for error when you're learning the speed and complexity of the league without much help around you. People make mistakes, and because he is the #1 pick, it's all his fault and his failure.

You can't evaluate a young QB in a vacuum and pretend all of that doesn't matter. If the expectation was that Cam was going to walk into a bad roster, adjust to a new coaching staff, elevate mediocre talent and immediately look like a franchise QB, that's an expectation problem, not necessarily a Cam problem.
 
Remember his infamous statement before the draft: "If you don't draft me, that's your fault... and I'll remember that"

He's passed for 140yds week 1, then 183yds week 2. Its not all on the OLine/OC/WRs.

I hate to say it, but that is true.

Our OL was great the last 2 years. He could create and throw off his back foot a good bit…you just don’t have that kind of time in the NFL with a ****** OL…it’s just a different deal.
