Since this is the slow time of the year for football a thought came in my mind at school today about how the team wouldve done last year if we had our current new staff. So the question is how many games do you think we wouldve won with this staff and a stronger secondary before the key players left? I know we woulda beat Cincy and won our bowl game. Just an interesting conversation to have

Not sure why the OP stopped there. Should have thrown in a dominant d-line and an o-line that didn't allow a sack. I think you could make a relatively strong case that we'd have at least won 9 games then.

True, I just didnt want to type much. Id say 9 games plus the bowl for 10.

When I said key players I implied mostly the secondary and Waters. The ones who left

Agree. Gadbois and Wyche would have both been first rounders.

We played the top 3 teams in our conference(who are all top 15 in the nation). 5 other teams we played were decent bowl teams. It was actually a good schedule with average teams as OOC opponents.

Our preseason SoS was #3 in the country...which was still rated #24 by the end of the season. Not exactly a weak schedule

I think we beat FSU and Cincy. The UNC and Clemson games got away from us. They would have been closer with this staff.

FSU and cincy we win. Doubt we beat UNC or Clemson. I think the scores from the season were worse than the 8-4 record was.
