Other programs reaching out to Cooney

Ok cool he did his job well (I think?) and got a promotion now we owe him something ? Might as well promote Baez to lb coach with that logic

We may regret losing all that sway over south Florida blue chippers that he’s exhibited over the last couple of years.

Oh wait, that’s right, all those guys “close” to Cooney told us to **** our own face.

The guy is doing well in a position that he has because UM took a chance on him when no one else did. He should be thankful and keep grinding while he gets a pay check that is a multiple of what he received before he jumped on the UM roll.

These south Florida ***** love to eat their own. Really a lose-lose in hiring a local corch. If he’s promoted, then the envy kicks in and the other local coaches bash him and guide kids elsewhere. If he’s not promoted, then UM is racist and/or unsupportive of local guys and the Lukes and Rickies of the world bash UM.

Its likely for a off field role if its true. Field was the lead recruiting guy for oregon but left for louisville and then here.

Really don't get what the **** the big deal about Cooney is. Definitely not worth a position coach here at this time. Then again, neither was the guy we actually hired as WR coach....so whatever.

Every year we annoint one or two guys on staff as our Elite recruiters who we can't afford to lose, and every year they miss out on the top recruits and consistently get replaced with the same results.
 
Cooney will prove to be irrelevant in the grand scheme once we begin winning. A well-oiled Miami machine isn't dependent on this guy.
