8. CB Jaelen Waters – Miami

Jaelen Waters deserves a bunch of credit for the Raw Miami defense bowing up down the stretch. The Miami commit didn’t have the most gaudy numbers from a production standpoint, but essentially closed down an entire side of the field for much of the weekend. His physical style of play gave fits to several talented receivers. Waters is a confident press-man defender who thrives on making pass catchers uncomfortable from the line of scrimmage. He carried that physicality throughout the process of the catch. Waters rarely saw the ball thrown his way, one of the tell-tale signs of a defensive back having a strong performance.

There was a kid committed to A&M that was killing them until they moved Waters over to him, feel like I didn’t hear his name the rest of the game. Kid also looks like he can tie his shoes standing up, pretty crazy wingspan.
