OT: Women's Hoops Trying To Hoard $$$?

only 11.7 scholarships allowed for Baseball. Miami is at a HUGE disadvantage compared to UF and FSU.
The NCAA only allows a limited number of baseball scholarships, irrespective of the funding.

Edit: I see subsequent posts have clarified it in greater detail. Bottom line: we (or anyone else) have significantly fewer scholarships than there are players for baseball. And that is determined by the NCAA. Difference is that at UFhag, a baseball player with a partial scholarship might have to make up a few thousand a year, at Miami it’s 25,000 to 50,000 a year depending on what percent scholarship he got

All private schools are at a huge disadvantage when it comes to baseball. That’s why you have to have great coaches and kids that can get academic money. Or have great facilities like at Vandy. Id say that pitching lab they got over there has helped churn out some absolute studs who got paid in the league.

Donor is a really nice lady....LOVES UM. Have met her at HC football luncheons. :neonu:

this may sound stupid or maybe the ncaa wouldn't allow it.but could a donation be made to make a financial scholarship for those baseball players to help cover that cost they have to come up with.
