It's getting even tougher to gauge QBs from the blue bloods becasue not only are they all surrounded by first round talent, but the coaches make it so easy for them by scheming guys wide open. It's the same criticism I had of Tua, only his accuracy didn't turn to absolute **** when making progressions. Instead he forced a lot of bad balls. If you look at Tua's numbers against top 25 defenses at Bama his average plummeted to somehting like 200 yards 1TD and 1.3 INTs a game over his career.Sounds identical to Haskins lol.
That's been the knock on every single QB that came from Urban, Dan Mullen, and now Ryan Day systems. Dak being sort of an outlier (he has his flaws). Alex Smith was the same way early in his career but he eventually got settled in and was solid. He was always too quick to try to run or roll out and throw it away. All good athletes and they put up college numbers, test well, and then fall back to earth in the NFL
The one guy I've really liked is Burrow. I even rate him higher than Lawrence. His ability to always hit his man in stride is second to none. That and he knows how to move in the pocket and can go through his progressions with ease.
