OT: Univ. of Houston meltdown?

This is really interesting. As I read it he wants to redshirt because he's played his 4 games and thinks they aren't any good this year, but he doesn't want to transfer. And he's running out of eligibility. It is not like this is his first year.

It's smart on his part... McCloud should take note

Why is it smart? They are both starters lol I get it if they were injured but what happens when they again lose 3-4 games next year then go the league and have to answer questions about why they quit on their team.

Remind me. I'm forgetting how the new transfer rules work. At this point, with the new rule, it is as if he has not played this year as he does not exceed 4 games.

If he takes the non-medical redshirt this year, he could still hit the portal and be immediately eligible next year, right?

But if he takes the non-medical redshirt and transfers within conference, he still then sits out a year?

If he just transferred now, he'd be immediately eligible out of conference, but would have to sit this year to be eligible in conference?

Smart because they literally have nothing to play for. They will have another year in DH's system which should in turn improve their stats next year. I wouldn't be surprised to see UH Take a huge leap next year especially with a 5th year dynamic QB. Also, the reason the current Gators QB never started in HS was because of King. They went to the same high school and in the same class. King is special and DH knows that.

I think our players buy in a little more but they've never been held to a high standard under richt or Diaz. It's probably hard for good playera to stay motivated under richts and bakers schemes too.
we had freshmen ready to leave bc of PT.

Yeah you're right but if I was a freshman and I knew I was better than the upperclassmen and wasnt getting pt, I'd want out too. Imagine being a top player having to play in donofrios defense or richts offense you know?

They fired Applewhite after just 2 years and a winning record. Holgerson better get things turned around fast.

Applewhite wasn’t a bad offensive coach.

The problem was that Dorito was his DC. And even though he fired Dorito before the Army bowl game, he hadn’t gotten rid of Dorito’s mark on the team.

That resulted in a 70-14 loss and Applewhite himself being fired.

Doesn’t surprise me a bit. Dana’s offense has exposed this kid as an athlete not a QB. If you’ve watched them play this year, he’s left 4 or 5 touchdowns out there. He can’t hit receivers at a level that is needed to win.

He’s better suited at a school that can utilize his run first mentality, bc he’s an absolute electric athlete
