I have a friend who is a UM alum and made a documentary about two Somali soccer players which have now both made their way to his hometown of St. Louis. One is attending SLU and hoping to play this fall but awaiting NCAA clearance because he played on a team where he received compensation. They are optimistic, but I'm worried about him being cleared.

Here are some links, I encourage everyone to check it out:

I can't wait to watch it right after I watch this blade of grass I'm staring at grow one more inch.

God it's embarrassing being a member of this fan base some times. Luckily most of you guys don't go to games or leave your mom's basement, so the outside world isn't really exposed to you.

I don't leave your mom's basement if you know what I mean.

Is this kind of diatribe necessary? We want a civilized board and you are attacking posters and the fanbase just because they don't share your enthusiasm for something? #Yikes !

I'd gladly watch a documentary on Somali refugees. The soccer part was a dealbreaker. Now I'm gonna just fill this time watching that Disney film about the two Indian kids the Pirates let pitch once in an spring training game. That'll boost my feigned empathy based self esteem.

i'm all in, but only if you can promise me that this film delivers a strong white savior narrative

Haha. In the end they end up being "saved" by some white woman pretending she loves them just so they commit to her SEC alma mater.
