Sarnoff pretty much killed the Grove. But those things also tend to be cyclical in Miami too.

Coconut Grove died the day they started construction on Mayfair.
Place is only 33 years old? I was over 50 when it opened no wonder I don't remember it. Crap I am old. RIP. Hey is Caribbean Club down in Key Largo still open? I loss millions of brain cells and part of my liver down there. It was a dive but wow was it fun.Damnnnn. Haven't heard that name in years!
Wynwood and the Grove residents and Uber/Lyft pretty much killed the Grove. But those things also tend to be cyclical in Miami too.
How did Uber/Lyft kill the grove?

To bad you didn’t go into a coma that night, never to be heard from again. Many, many years ago one of the worst, if not the worst alcohol induced puke sessions of my life started at the Tavern.
Man that was a great night. Well until I had to be washed off by a hose at 2 am.
The Grove lost the benefit of proximity to campus when commuting to other parts of Miami became easier and cheaper.
My kids are in mourning...... My daughter just text me "My entire college Grove experience is dead. Tavern, Mr. Moes, Tuesday's.. all gone. Only Sandbar and Cudas are left... LOL
Kids go to Wynwood or down to South Beach to some of the low key places now....

Please for all our sake on here go jump into pool of electric eels. You are mentally unstable. Please, for your own sake, get yourself much needed professional help.
That makes sense. Man I had a lot of good times in Grove.
I wasn't going to say it because I'm definitely not the "Kids today suck" guy but the undergrad population ticked up in douchie-ness too so Wynwood had more appeal than dive bars like the Vern and even Sandbar.
But that still doesn't negate the pushback from Sarnoff/oldhead and yuppie type Grove residents and the fact that you now could get to other parts of Miami cheap and without fear of a DUI.
Please for all our sake on here go jump into pool of electric eels.![]()
And your not? Manure and flake just ran off highsmith, a guy that has forgotten more football then those two bozos know. Manure has retained his whole pop warner corching staph on defense including “cAnt recruit to save his life” rumph. Manure can’t get a transfer QB worth a **** to come here and try to save his dead man walking season. Manures letting our triple option receivers corch stay because he either doesn’t know anyone better or every other receivers coach told him to Fvck off. So I guess the better question is why aren’t you angry sport? Because only a troll fake *** fan wouldnt be angry with where our program is/headed right now.Ok lil angry Forrest Gump.
Haven't been there for over 20 years. Need to go pay my respect...Yes, it hasn't been the same for years but yet another Miami institution has died. My heart and my permanently damaged liver ache today, gentlemen. RIP.
